Spring, 1908: Happy new year all.
Spring, 1908: My draw vote has also been up the whole time since the glitch gave us all bonus points. Just saying.
Spring, 1908: That would be an incredible way to start the new year, really set it apart from the previous... whatever that was.
Spring, 1908: Happy New Year indeed! And yes, mine has been up since Turkey declared they wouldn't stab you, Italy :D
Spring, 1908: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
Spring, 1908: Happy New year!
Spring, 1908: Sorry about that move Germany, I just couldnt get that anglo-german alliance out of my head
Spring, 1908: That's fine, but I'm pulling units from the Turkish border to try and hold my homeland, so don't blame me if he starts threatening a solo...
Autumn, 1908: Wow, England.
Autumn, 1908: Wow, Germany. What happened to defending the homeland?
Autumn, 1908: Turns out getting stabbed in the fucking back makes it harder to do so :P
Autumn, 1908: Still, at this point we've got four countries and I don't see any of us being completely removed. This is a draw; my vote is in.
Spring, 1909: Are we all voting draw?
Spring, 1909: Just realised how is the pot 160 when the bet is 20 per person. Surely it should be 140?

Spring, 1909: Hi Folks: New Germany here. Do I have any allies in this world?
Spring, 1909: jeez, sad to see the old kraut flee. I suppose he couldnt stick it out to the end
Spring, 1909: I did quite like him, even though he underestimated me and overestimated the english
Spring, 1909: New Kraut, my draw flag is up, but until then, I will be forced to move against you, simply due to my momentum
Spring, 1909: That’s fair enough France. In that case, I suppose my best strategy is to allow one of you (either Turkey or France) to gobble up 2 or 3 of my SCs while ensuring that the other two get none. That will creat an imbalance of points with the lucky one having about 80-ish points and the other two dropping below their current points, as well as create a serious risk of a solo. A plan so crazy that it might just get me to survive to the draw. |
|
Spring, 1909: My strategic mind admires your plan, but my paranoid mind thinks you're throwing us all for a loop
Spring, 1909: No, its dumb.
Spring, 1909: You are trying to create a draw by actively incentivizing one player NOT to vote for a draw by promising them more points.
Spring, 1909: Furthermore, the only cross-stalemate line center Germany could conceivably throw is STP to Turkey, which also happens to be one of the easiest ones for France to scoop up with its fleets in the event of a solo try, and it would almost certainly be retaken prior to Turkey taking all of my centers (to say nothing of the fact that Italy+Tunis are incredibly easily defended from the west, so getting one center across the line is fairly meaningless in this scenario). So the solo threat is, and always will be, minimal.
Spring, 1909: Moreover because it's anonymous draw votes, you don't know really which one of France or Turkey (or both) doesn't have a draw vote up and therefore cannot pick the correct one, if any, to try to throw to.
Spring, 1909: Italy: If you have a better plan, I’m listening.
Spring, 1909: My draw vote has been up, and i also dont plan on stabbing italy. So you guys can figure out what you want to do
Spring, 1909: Turkey and Italy: Are you two willing to work with me to form a stalemate line against France? Or would you prefer to continue attacking me?
Spring, 1909: Well right now everyone claims their draw vote is up and someone is obviously lying
Spring, 1909: The joy of hidden votes
Spring, 1909: So... doesn’t seem like you have any better plan Italy. Doesn’t seem that you can get Turkey on board with peace.
Spring, 1909: To be clear, you can't get them on board with peace. I'm not sure why I should be carrying your water to figure out how to get you into a draw.
Sorry that was an asshole thing to say, hadn't had coffee yet still tired and crabby
France: I’ve decided to not give you any of my SCs as I suspect you are the one with your draw vote off. You will remain stuck at 10 SCs, while Turkey increases his count to 11 or 12. The way SOS scoring works, you will actually have LESS than your current 54 points. Drawing now will give you the most points you’re going to get. The longer you wait, the more your score will dwindle.
I have my draw vote up | |
I dont know why you would assume it was me, I've mentioned multiple times in the past that I was willing to draw and that has not changed.
dunno what I'd have to do to convince you of that but oh well.
you are entirely correct, points wise, there would be no point to me not drawing in the immediate right now
as such, my draw flag is up
I told myself I would never play another hidden draw game. I really really hate hidden draw.
Well at this point Turkey wouldn't have a draw vote up since they are about to at least get Warsaw
I will say this: Germany, I have more to lose than gain by you dying at this point, so I won't attack Berlin, you can use it to cover Kiel (or use it to support Baltic in) thereby allowing A Denmark to hold so France can't sneak in the back. So now if it is France they really have no reason to not vote draw. Turkey, I will take down my draw vote shortly before phase end and if it turns out you decided to try to pick up Trieste or Vienna I will keep it down, support France into the rest of Germany, and then work with France to support hold Ionian and Venice until they are in a place where picking up Rome/Naples/Tunis will get them to 18. |
|
I thank you for that Italy and respect your strategy. If Silesia is not doing anything, then support into Warsaw from Livonia would be greatly appreciated.
Not going to turn on turkey unless they attack me so Silesia will not be doing that, but hopefully if they are the holdout they’ll be happy with Warsaw
I will turn my draw vote back on after this turn ends, i dont plan on taking anything of yours italy as i previously mentioned
I hope that is acceptable?
Yes | |
draw flag is up and remains up
Good game everyone! Thanks for playing :) |
