25 Nov 20 UTC We actually got on the line for once, inconvenient to my solo ambitions, but otherwise a relief to see.

So I kept Russia and Turkey alive for years and years when they had no right to be, and while Russia was kind enough to repay my magnanimity with Moscow and Warsaw, Turkey put his new lease on life to good use by..immediately suiciding from an unkillable position. So confused..he was building and 100% vital to the line and impossible to kill if he had just turtled and stayed on 4. I couldn’t believe my eyes when he sent Smyrna to Syria, surely a misorder?

Russia, should have supported you to Lvp, this was a major error that crippled my winning chances. Russia actually treated me well for most of the game and I thought we were getting along swimmingly, of course it would have been better if he had walked out of Sevastopol for me because there was no way he was living, but some people I guess prefer to lose to a 3wd and this is every player’s personal choice.

Austria was a miserable pain in my ass, destroying Galicia made me happier than the first time I convoyed Gascony into Lvp and it’s my great regret that I wasn’t able to destroy Bohemia as well after he messed with me the whole game for shits and giggles. Nice attack on Berlin, I didn’t see it coming, I’m sure it was fun for Austria.

I had voted draw for a while before Turkey died and I was going to try to keep Russia and France alive, Russia especially because he hadn’t supported Italy into MAO, but I decided I couldn’t risk being the reason that certain player I’m unhappy with in the other game got any points from this series. I also needed literally one more point to join the GRboats, so, someone had to go.
25 Nov 20 UTC Gege. Honestly Italy, you've been the most patient ally I ever had, and frankly more than I deserve really, thank you!

On a side note, pauses break the flow of a game honestly, really broke my excitement level. And no comments on the other game in this series until it ends.

Do you folks want to play more games in this series?
25 Nov 20 UTC I had fun fighting you Germany, though honestly it started more as a retaliation to the move in Tyrolia (yeah it goes to Piedmont, but it so messed up the metal rhythm I was in at that point and put pressure on my home SCs), and after that I felt I had the leeway to mess around with you a bit. Knowing that the attacks frustrated you makes it even more better honestly.

Honestly, I felt Russia and Turkey could not get on the same page throughout the game. If Turkey's Spring 1909 movement hadn't happened I assume it would have been a 6wd at that point. I guess Turkey went on Russia expecting me to let him do do nd focus on Germany? I deemed it too risky to let happen

Galicia could have held but I was getting confused whether I'm being allowed to go to Sevast to shorten the draw size or not. I guess at the end, you were willing to let even France off the draw?
25 Nov 20 UTC *do that and focus
25 Nov 20 UTC Yes, I also play this game for emotional satisfaction, whoever annoys me, I shove units in their direction and hope for the best. This is most of my strategy.

I was annoyed that you went to Nwy so I retaliated by harassing your homeland, of course it was also a bonus that I needed to do this to keep you from rushing to War and Mos which you looked poised to do, if you killed Russia first I would never win War and Mos and with them the game.

I was annoyed at France for supporting Italy into MAO and not supporting me into Mar, but I hate draw slimming more than I hate France.
25 Nov 20 UTC Someone had been vetoing the draw and it wasn't me, so I thought if they have to go kill him, kill him, but I'm voting draw and certainly not going to hold out to force France to die if everyone else is OK to draw.
25 Nov 20 UTC Also, I could not hold Sevastopol without Bohemia, so you were going to get it eventually, even if I put all effort to keeping it alive.
25 Nov 20 UTC GG's!
25 Nov 20 UTC Also that nmr was me, ran out of data at work, couldn't check the phone. My bad, peeps
25 Nov 20 UTC GGs!

"Smyrna to Syria, surely a misorder?"
It was intentional but stupid. I was trying *not* to freak out Austria. But really, moving back into SMY in A08 was wrong if I was trying to avoid freaking out Austria. I should have covered CON once I already decided to go back into SMY, and just gotten my 4 while safely eliminating Russia.

@Austria, I would like more clarity around "I deemed it too risky to let happen". Did you not trust me to safely eliminate Russia? Or did you see my movements as a great opportunity to eliminate me as well?

Because if it's the latter, 10/10 good play. If it's the former, I have a small gripe with you ;) because it was clear after Italy built the fleet in W08 that we would be able to safely eliminate Russia (no hard feelings @Russia), since Germany would be maxed out at 17 even if we somehow fumbled SEV over to Germany.
25 Nov 20 UTC Thanks for drawing, I figured jasnah was going to try and get me whittled (don't blame her for trying). Supporting Italy into MAO was a mistake that made it more likely Italy could have whittled me regardless of what Germany chose to do. I admit I panicked there and thought the east would bungle it and lose Sev so I needed to get Italy Marseilles and I took the risk. Thankfully Italy has a heart of gold and chose to not take advantage. I figured you'd accept my apology to you, jasnah, when I elected not to support MAO to hold, thus essentially letting you back in, but I suppose not :(
25 Nov 20 UTC Good game, all. Austria(TestSubjector), I appreciated the mutually-beneficial alliance that lasted the full game. I feel I messed up my 1909 moves around Marseilles -- otherwise would have been in a position to eliminate France(FlyingBoat). But after having made that mistake, I was never again in a position to do so without risking handing a solo over to Germany(jasnah).
25 Nov 20 UTC I was curious to see if the game had lasted into 1916, if Germany(jasnah) would have continued to retract their forces back further, enough to let a France-elimination be safely possible. But I was thinking the higher likelihood was going to be a stalemate close to how we actually did finish
25 Nov 20 UTC I would have retreated further if the game had continued, because it would have meant that someone cared enough about getting more points to keep vetoing, I don't care enough about saving France to rush back into MAO again just to support him, so in that case, he's all yours.
25 Nov 20 UTC Whittling is very easy tactically speaking, almost always doable. It's just cancerous for the game, awful for the playing experience and awful as an incentive mechanism.
25 Nov 20 UTC You could never have killed France without my allowing it. 1909 was irrelevant
26 Nov 20 UTC @Turkey The latter but it more of an Austrian reaction to any possible growth of Turkey. I was eyeing for a while whether I could get rid of you and Russia, your movement was the opportunity I was waiting for (which was safely away from the front) and so I went for it
