Spring, 1907: I've put my unpause vote in
Spring, 1907: Happy New year all
Spring, 1907: Happy New Year everyone. I've voted to unpause.
Spring, 1907: oh i see i was the one who didn't vote to unpause yet, i thought i had! I'm sorry everyone!
Spring, 1907: Wah! Welcome back all!
Spring, 1907: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
Autumn, 1907: Just publicly admitting to all my partners, with whom I have been equally duplicitous all game, that I think I have an anarchic streak as far as this game goes. Definitely not my ordinary play style, and to my three neighbours, several turns of "I am sorry for being a shit."
Autumn, 1907: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
Spring, 1908: Friends, I put my draw vote up because there's little to no press in this game (and I've received more "well I just want to focus on my other games" than I think is reasonable).
Autumn, 1908: My draw vote is up.. I am not sure when it went up but has been there for a while. I am still taking interest in this game though
Autumn, 1908: I get the sentiment. Willing to see where it goes, out of some interest sake, but if it ended now...I would not be upset. Some games are like that.
Autumn, 1908: I prefer to draw right now ;)
Autumn, 1908: My draw has been up for years.
Autumn, 1908: I'm willing to work towards a draw but not yet. It would all feel like a bit of a waste of time if this ended in a 7 way draw.
Autumn, 1908: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
Autumn, 1908: I’ve put a pause up .. as much as all the stop starts we’ve had have killed the momentum I’d also rather not play with an absent country
Autumn, 1908: My pause vote is up as well
Autumn, 1908: This is frustrating. I definitely put in orders. Probably I didn't hit save or something?
Autumn, 1908: Sorry, everyone.
Autumn, 1908: Italy my friend, i still hate you for stabbing me :( But i enjoyed playing! |
|
Autumn, 1908: Thanks Turkey! So, I'm going to put this here instead of writing it out once to everyone- We're in a position where the rest of the game is either draw whittling or stopping an Austrian solo. Austria tells me that he'd be happy to draw once England, Italy and Russia are eliminated. If Austria is sensible, I'm sure that you're all getting some other version of the final split. However, I think Austria is too close to the stalemate line for us to safely eliminate anyone. I also think that we can easily stop Austria's growth if we work together. Austria also says that he wants to stop playing this game (which doesn't fit with "but I won't draw yet", so I mean, you decide what his real motives are for continuing). I'm happy to draw the game here - I don't see any need to eliminate anyone. But, I do think we need to be aware of the risk if we move away from the stalemate line. What do you all think? Who else would be happy to draw here? |
|
Autumn, 1908: Thanks France.
Spring, 1909: As I'm sure everyone on the board already knows France is a liar and is willing to lie as much as he needs to get his way. As I've said multiple times I have no interest in a solo win, I did in November/December but not anymore. I also have no interest in taking out Italy. If I did I wouldn't have allowed him to take all 3 of Turkey's SCs.
Spring, 1909: Hahahahaha!
Spring, 1909: Anyway, I think everyone else can decide whether or not I'm lying about "we should probably not let Austria get any more centres".
Spring, 1909: Austria + Italy: 17 nearest of a solo
Spring, 1909: As we are waiting through this, I am waiting to hear from Austria around a suitable DMZ that satisfies both of our needs. My moves this turn should reflect that a) we've agreed or b) we haven't. And I've played too much public press lately. :) |
|
Spring, 1909: Lol sorry I'll reply to you now Italy. My city just went back into Covid lockdown last night so Diplomacy wasn't on my mind yesterday. Western Australia did get close to 10 months without any Covid community transmission so I guess we were due for it sometime soon...
Spring, 1909: Ah, shit!!! Christ. Alright, be safe. Take a pause if needed.
Spring, 1909: I'm fine, won't need a pause. It was just a bit of a mad scramble to get everything sorted before the lockdown and find out what my work arrangements would be. Luckily it's only a 5 day lockdown for now anyway.
Autumn, 1910: I like how you're all buying in to the "I will sit here and wait for the draw as long as you eliminate the others".
Spring, 1912: Friends, I'm giving up on this game. No one is sending actual diplomacy press or paying attention to the board. Everyone is saying they want the game to end for out-of-game reasons- last time I read the site rules, this wasn't allowed. Pretty disappointed. I'm going to congratulate Austria on the solo, in the hopes that stubborness will prevent them going for it. Entering all holds this turn. |
|
Spring, 1912: Also, F Nap is definitely the funniest build all game.
Spring, 1912: My draw vote is still in, and I'd be happy to consider other resolutions too. I came here to play diplomacy. I don't mind being on the receiving end of "look I'm going with the other guy", but that doesn't seem to be what's happening here. If everyone's narrative is going to be "look I don't care about this game and I'm not really playing", then I'm not interested in continuing. |
|
Spring, 1912: I am obviously not party to all of your press but I will say that I don't think that is a fair assessment of our messages together
Spring, 1912: Is it not? Your last few messages are complaining about others not playing.
Spring, 1912: I mean we’ve spoken about the rest of the board and how nothing much is happening. I don’t think I said I don’t care and that I’m not playing or that I want it to end for out of game reasons
Autumn, 1913: France and England, thanks for playing. ATC, I totally get your perspective. This was not the game you were hoping for when you originally signed on, and I have to give you credit for really trying to mix it up.
Autumn, 1913: You mean "play a game of diplomacy"? :P
Autumn, 1913: Well, kind of...?
Spring, 1914: Alright...who has their draws up?
Spring, 1914: My draw vote is up.
Spring, 1914: So is mine
Spring, 1914: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
Spring, 1914: That was me; sorry about that. Thought I had time today.
Spring, 1914: Hate doing that to my RR.
My draw vote is now up. Seems like we are waiting on someone else!
Looks like my draw vote was the last one remaining. Good game everyone.
I'll be rooting for those of you who are participating in the public press GR challenge!
Wow. |
