27 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Sorry about that @Heartland. My fault on the miscommunication. I have to disband an army
27 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Maybe it should be Greenland as a peace offering to New York. Maybe New York was right and we're safer getting rid of California long term. And maybe if I start losing to Florida that will draw NY in on our side.

Will wait and see how Cali reacts
27 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: I accept your proposals, Heartland.
I shall build a fleet, and look forward to moving into Missouri.
27 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Wonderful. I prefer to play this thing safe anyways. I have a moveset that I think should be unbreakable with your cooperation
27 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Greenland is being destroyed. New York, an olive branch is being extended.
27 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Okay, BC, can you cover Gulf of Alaska with one fleet then. You can move the other in to San Diego.

Cali you can sail your fleets out to fill the spaces BC leaves behind
27 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Well New-York, it's all up to you here. You're the tactician. I mobilized against Heartland to aid you.
It's now up to you on whether we attack or not. I'll happily keep my units within my borders if that's what you want. Or send us at Heartland for attacking you unprovoked. They are opening up Greenland as well which makes things easier for us to deal with.
27 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Peru - if you're going to have success against Texas, you'll need extra armies. Is it acceptable to allow me into Chihuahua in place of your fleet?
27 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: BC - just make sure you check in again before phase ends :)
27 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Hmm, I may build F Chicago for that pipe dream lol
27 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: I look forward to sharing a border with you California:)
27 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Im honestly not sure what to do here. Florida you seem to be an enemy to every other player at the moment, with Peru no longer trusting you after Yucatan. The rest of the world seems to be uniting to take you out.

If peace is still an option, which I believe it is, then we shouldn't fight anymore. That all depends on Heartland and Peru though.
27 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: I think Peru will come around eventually.
I also don't think California is really an enemy. They will just accept any SC given to them.

Heartland is the player that is against a peaceful ending. At this point, Heartland is going to push as hard as they can to kill me, since I am there biggest obstacle for a solo victory.

That's why I'm saying you will be taking most of Heartland's territory if we fight them. So that you don't have to worry about me getting too large to stop from soloing.
27 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: *their* yikes that bothered me to read.
27 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: My draw is in, NY. Don't let Florida flip this on me
27 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: I'll hit draw as soon as it's four players.
27 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Actually, nevermind. I love peace.
27 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: My draw vote is in, NY. Don't let Heartland flip his betrayal on you. If we get the draw then we've done it. We were allies to the end.
27 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Taking mine off actually because if we're really drawing, I think technically Texas makes it until disbands are done
28 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: I'm surprised you are committing to the draw Heartland. I was expecting you to force the fight.
28 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Florida, your fleets are not useless against Heartland. In one of my last messages I wrote to you that fleets can move up the Mississippi, and through Chicago they can enter into the Great Lakes. They are a huge underated asset in that theatre, especially given that Heartland already has one fleet in the area.
28 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Taking Yucatan and trying to justify it by saying that I don't need the build is incredibly disrespectful and shows that you totally ignored the earlier message I wrote to you. I stated my plan to move up the West Coast in order to stifle Heartland's growth; I stated my intention to remain allied with you and work together. Now I don't have the build I would NEED to follow through with that plan.
28 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Florida, I advise you to retreat from the Caribbean. You remember what slow progress it was when you attacked with Texas earlier in the game. It won't be any easier for you now. If you attack Venezuela as you said, or any other SCs of mine (West Caribbean, Guatemala), I will consider it a stab. Think carefully about this. I will input whatever defensive moves are necessary the next turn and if you continue attacking me, it will become offensive.
The choice is yours, Florida. What I do next depends on you.
28 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Heartland, No you cannot take Chihuahua, thanks for asking! (unlike some people)
28 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Florida, you are miscalculating Heartland's strength. Because of California in Milwaukee, Heartland only gets 2 builds at this time meaning he will be at 13 units, while you will be at 16 units.
29 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Peru, you cannot apply pressure on Florida unless there's an army in Chihuahua, I'm just saying
29 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: And Florida, I will of course draw if the alternative is just fueling your solo effort. I'm pretty sure you were relying on my supposed greed to paint yourself as the good guy while you took your shot. The fact that your first instinct was to wait until 4 players were left is telling - until you realized that undermined your position with California and NY.
29 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: (Also, Peru - when I warn you a stab is coming, you should listen. When I tell you the optimal move is to put your army in Durango, you should also listen. You'd have a free pass into Coahuila and a dagger at Florida's Texan heart.)
29 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Heartland, you need to get Arizona into Colorado and San Diego into Arizona if you want to prevent Florida from taking your SCs. Just saying, when I tell you you are exposed, you should listen.
29 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Oregon, Peru. Oregon. I have a spare army
29 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Oklahoma and Arizona bounce in Colorado. Oklahoma is pushed back to Kansas after being dislodged. Oregon moves to Nevada.

Next season, Kansas supports Arizona-Colorado, Nevada-Arizona.

That moveset leaves San Diego free. You only have three armies - two for Durango and Potosi. One to contain Yucatan. That leaves Chihuahua as an army-free spot at the nexus of our line that Florida can defensively take advantage of
29 Jul 20 UTC Autumn, 2008: Chihuahua fleet will remain in place.
29 Jul 20 UTC So everyone is at a draw except Heartland and Peru
29 Jul 20 UTC @Heartland I am moving to Gulf of Alaska. Did you say I could have San Diego?
29 Jul 20 UTC Mine is in now. I just wanted to ensure the Texas elimination went through
29 Jul 20 UTC Yeah, if this is gonna keep going on, you can have San Diego. California will move out to backfill your units.

@Cali - Milwaukee to Iowa please, in preparation for the move to Missouri
29 Jul 20 UTC GG all!
29 Jul 20 UTC I do believe we would have been able to take Florida but don't wanna let a unanimous Draw vote go to waste!
29 Jul 20 UTC Heh, I figured you were Cali, Deinodon. Cheers for having me
29 Jul 20 UTC Oh wow I didn't even realize this wasn't DSS
29 Jul 20 UTC GG, I'm glad we could resolve this peacefully :)
29 Jul 20 UTC Tbh, I would've rather gone on a rampage *with* Florida, but that's not how the cards worked out. Given another year or two of gains against NY and Cali, I would've been secure enough to take on the whole board.
29 Jul 20 UTC I figured that was you in BC, Josh. I knew Florida was Michael all along. I had no idea Jay was Mexico. NY was Zachary! Impressive. Did not know Reuben was our previous Heartland. Always knew Tate was Cuba (he is only a fourth grader). And goldfinger! Thank you for joining our game!
29 Jul 20 UTC Goldfinger you were a joy!
29 Jul 20 UTC Goldfinger you were a joy!
29 Jul 20 UTC Zach! way to go in New-York. Such a fun strategy you employed.
Was very aware that Deinodon was California, even before all the star wars references.
30 Jul 20 UTC I allied myself with a 4th grader ?? Looool
30 Jul 20 UTC If only we had a solid set of 10 players, I would enjoy playing that map again. It's so fresh and new.
30 Jul 20 UTC it's a solid map for sure. my fave
30 Jul 20 UTC GG everyone. This was a fun map and global only communications certainly put an interesting spin on things.
