30 Apr 10 UTC Spring, 1: hello all! good luck.
30 Apr 10 UTC Spring, 1: gl
30 Apr 10 UTC Spring, 1: Egypt, what do you think of keeping Leptis a DMZ? we can bounce there after we've taken Numidia/Cyrene.
30 Apr 10 UTC Spring, 1: fair enough
01 May 10 UTC Spring, 1: voting cancel in case someone doesn't show up.
01 May 10 UTC Autumn, 1: i'd rather cancel and restart than play with 4/5.
02 May 10 UTC Autumn, 1: welcome RomanDiamond!
03 May 10 UTC Autumn, 2: Egypt, it appears you are readying to stab me in regards to Leptis. I am confused as to why you'd want to wage war on two fronts.
05 May 10 UTC Spring, 3: gotta keep things interesting
05 May 10 UTC Spring, 3: Welcome jcgirolamo! our third rome!
07 May 10 UTC Autumn, 3: and another rome gone.
09 May 10 UTC Spring, 4: Greece, what do you think of supporting Roma to Ravenna?

I've had no problem with you, unlike that backstabbing Egypt. I'd like to focus on Egypt, just as i'm sure you'd like to concentrate on finishing off Persia.
10 May 10 UTC Autumn, 4: Carthage: Ok let's finish off the others and then draw.
12 May 10 UTC Spring, 5: Greece: If you can, please hit Alexandria to cut its support of Cyrene.
12 May 10 UTC Spring, 5: greece i hope youre aware youre still capable of winning this, going for the draw isnt necessary
14 May 10 UTC Autumn, 6: Sorry about that, but without you hitting Alexandria last time I was then unable to break Egypt's line. I couldn't have you roll down the East while I stalemated with Egypt.

I suppose at this point we'll likely have a three way draw with Egypt.
17 May 10 UTC Autumn, 7: Egypt, my enemy's enemy is my friend
17 May 10 UTC Autumn, 7: Why not focus on Cyprus? Tyre will fall without effort, Jer will follow suite; but Cyprus needs two fleets to be defeated. Once Persia is gone we can draw.

Or is a three way draw not sufficient for you? Is that why you wouldn't help me with Egypt earlier---because you're gunning for the solo? I really dont think anyone is capable of the solo in this game.
17 May 10 UTC Autumn, 7: oh its definitely possibly i have seen it happen
17 May 10 UTC Autumn, 7: I meant this/our particular game
17 May 10 UTC Autumn, 7: Carthage: We had a successful alliance and an agreement to draw once Egypt and Persia were defeated. You obviously reneged on that when you abruptly invaded my home territory in revenge for a grievance caused by my failure to support you when requested. You suggest that I was intending to win outright. Did it not occur to you that my fleet may simply have had other work to do? Now having betrayed me you offer advice about capturing Cyprus. Although it seems your pre-emptive attack was not as devastating as it might have been, I am still open to negotiation, but please do not expect me to immediately ask for a draw just because of your attack. My terms for peace will now be a three-way draw between us and Egypt. Sadly I do not include Persia in this deal as the capture of Persian territory nicely offsets the losses you have caused me and victory over Persia now seems within my grasp. However there is a condition . Before I agree to a draw I must regain Athens and Sparta. Carthage must accept whatever losses it incurs in the meantime. If Carthage does not agree and wishes to fight on, then I will do so, but with Egypt as an ally, if Egypt so wishes. Although your betrayal naturally came as a shock, I have no personal axe to grind because of it. It's all part of the game and I left myself exposed.
17 May 10 UTC Autumn, 7: If you want peace, Carthage, then first vote for a draw and then withdraw your forces from Athens and Sparta.
17 May 10 UTC Autumn, 7: I revise my terms stated above to include no further hostilities against Persia if Persia agrees and is peaceful. This is chiefly because I realise that to fight Persia to the death would probably make life difficult for Egypt if Persia tried to survive by capturing Egyptian territory. However concede none of the territory gained from Persia.
18 May 10 UTC Spring, 8: I agree on that Greece.
18 May 10 UTC Autumn, 8: I'm confused Greece. Didn't you offer peace to Persia? But you attacked Persia and positioned yourself to finish them off this round. Perhaps I just missed a 'revision' to your terms.
21 May 10 UTC Sorry that we went through so many Romes and that Bras seems to have left us. But it's been a fun game. Good game all.
