31 Jan 20 UTC Ggs all, more thoughts later but the actual move that screwed me was England doing NAO -> MAO in S04. Ruined my defense :/

Could also argue that Italy still helping Germany in S07 was....short-sighted

Didn’t help that Russia rolled over against Germany
31 Jan 20 UTC gg! I agree, italy was helping me a lot when I was getting and closer to win. Appreciated but also, not a great move
31 Jan 20 UTC I probably would have preferred not to misorder spring 01, but yeah, I feel like we still should have been able to establish a stalemate line fairly easily. Not sure why Russia opted to throw.
31 Jan 20 UTC I started helping Germany once France didn't show any sign of wanting to fight Germany together by attacking me instead.
31 Jan 20 UTC Honest question, when did you signal that you wanted to work with me against Germany? You attacked me consistently from S04 to S07, but maybe I missed something?
31 Jan 20 UTC It is true that once France was under attack by both Italy and me, he defended more vigorously from Italy and disregarded me. But that is a legitimate strategy: France can lose Paris and Brest and still survive in the stalemate line, but if he loses Marseilles/Spain all is lost. I don't support the whole adventure of the fleet in Tyrrenian Sea + Rome, it seems pointless and makes Italy even more angry. But definitively Italy should not have helped me - the support to spain in spring 07, the disband spain in spring mostly. A draw was easily obtained even if I took Moscow and Warsaw
01 Feb 20 UTC ^precisely my goal, stalemate line was my goal. The pointlessness of TYN + ROM is a fair point. I had hoped it would force Italy to retreat and defend, which would give me a chance to survive, because not bouncing TUN in F06 left ION open to Turkey, along with you (Germany) in TYR threatening VEN.

And this was before I took ROM, so Italy supporting you into SPA wasn’t retaliation imo, just a bad play/ignorant about the situation. The disband, yeah, that’s probably Italy being salty.
