Game won by Rainfromabove (798 D)
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: This actually was my first game, and I think that I played too aggressive. I shouldnt have been so ignorant to Frances concerns, plus I think too much trust for France, the inevitable stab happened much earlier than I expected. Commited too much to Russia ignoring the french threat. I should have talked and coordinated with austria and italy earlier on, I did not pay too much attention to the south in the beginning, and at some point suddenly Austria became the most important player on the board. Hats off to Austria, looking back I cant determine when exactly that point occurred, but my guess is that austria wins that game. Was a lot of fun, no bitter feelings towards France, good luck in this and future games.
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: Oh, and I think that Austria was the player I have written the most with so far.
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: Just to clarify my point of view, you started out lying to me about giving me Belgium. Then we made a deal that I should take two of the english SCs to make up for it, which you later ignored. After that I kind of had enough of being "allied" with you.
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: GG though mate, you did really well for your first game.
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: Germany, you played well for a first timer. It's hard being in the middle and having a rich fertile area full of scs.
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: Yep, good game by G. You went all in to the east and it looks so good initially, but if you want your allies to be “loyal” you need to not make it too tempting to stab you.
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: Yep, A played a great game. He didn’t get to greedy. Made sure it worked to your benefit to help him, always explained their reasoning, and I always felt like I was kept in the loop.
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: Sorry to keep asking this, but are we drawing or should I think about entering orders?
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: Looks like it's up to Russia at this point.
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: yes, I have learned the lesson not to alienate your allies by looking too greedy, the benelux betrayal was pretty stupid looking back, could have thought of some legitimation concerning the isles too.
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: I don’t think we need to draw. There is no stalemate at this point, and F is winning by sc’s, but has a very exposed position. I’d like to see how this plays out.
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: I’d love to draw now and start a new game, but if you insist I suppose you can spend a few years grinding me down.
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: Germany I too think you played very well, I did genuinely want to keep you in the game once France got pissed at me haha if only to be annoying to France but yeah unfortunately you were sort of caught in between a lot of powers at the beginning and then a few strong ones at the end :)
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: Wish you well in future games
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: I feel like I was justified in getting annoyed after you stabbed me.
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: Yes as anyone would be :) but I also brought up what needed to be done and I still maintain you would've run away with the game
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: Also 2 Germany this is already a massive win - "winning" in diplomacy isn't always about solo'ing, in my experience Austria quite often is the whipping post of all three powers around it so this is already pretty much as good as I could've hoped for

Not that I'm an expert of any kind but it seems 3 way draws are pretty common because of the risk that someone could get greedy
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: Yes, I would like a three-way draw. As I said, that was my goal from the start. But we'll all need to agree on it.
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: To Austria, I see where you're coming from, but from my perspective it looked like you were out to kill me, especially after you stopped replying entirely.
09 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: Don't be dramatic it's Friday night and I forgot to reply to your message just this once
10 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: Not now
10 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: When you stopped replying about the fleet in the Med
10 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1910: Oh fair, yes tbh I didn't really know what I was going to do with it back then
10 Aug 19 UTC Autumn, 1910: Alright, it was fun.
I’ll just enter Hold for now so we can get it over with.
11 Aug 19 UTC Autumn, 1910: Good guess on the support move to North Atlantic. Really helped me out there.
11 Aug 19 UTC Autumn, 1910: Come on France. You can play them against each other. I believe in you!
11 Aug 19 UTC Autumn, 1910: I tried, at this point they have no reason to betray each other before I’m dead.
11 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1911: congrats!
11 Aug 19 UTC Spring, 1911: French comeback is on! Am rooting for it
12 Aug 19 UTC Autumn, 1911: 9 SCs don’t beat 25. I don’t want to waste your nor my time with trying to.
13 Aug 19 UTC GG
13 Aug 19 UTC GG
13 Aug 19 UTC GG
13 Aug 19 UTC Gg sorry friends
14 Aug 19 UTC Hey, this is technically better for my stats than a two-way between you and Russia would have been.
14 Aug 19 UTC Or if I'd waited for you to die :)
14 Aug 19 UTC Yeah, or that.
So now that you don’t need to lie to me anymore, was this the plan ever since you stabbed me?
14 Aug 19 UTC Genuinely curious and obviously want to learn from this game.
14 Aug 19 UTC no haha although you didn't believe me i was genuinely down for a 3 way draw lmao
14 Aug 19 UTC but then the opportunity presented itself and russia was pretty keen to give a go to narrow the draw down more and obviously i wasn't going to say no but was wary of exposing myself, luckily russia was amenable to moving fleets ahead of me and then suddenly it seemed very possible to get a 2 way
14 Aug 19 UTC Yeah, so just a bit unfortunate for me. I guess the lesson is I should have left a unit or two in Italy?
btw I was never planning to solo, not sure if you believed that during the game or not.
14 Aug 19 UTC russia and i discussed a little bit, so i'll repeat that here, i was actually not going to stab him but i was somewhat pissed about a parallel game where i am russia and someone else who is austria just stabbed me when we could've had a nice draw and i was not ready for that to happen again so yeah....

in any case i think i got incredibly lucky this game. i don't think you should've grown so dispirited towards the last third of the game though :)
14 Aug 19 UTC I couldn’t have defended against you two. I stand by that decision.
14 Aug 19 UTC This way I can start a new game now, instead of drawing this one out for a few more turns.
14 Aug 19 UTC fair enough but you can play more than one in parallel as well :))
14 Aug 19 UTC and yeah idk the other game i was referring to i thought i had a sure alliance like here and then france managed to turn the other player to attack me
14 Aug 19 UTC so never know
14 Aug 19 UTC I used to play games in parallel, but found that I spent too much time on webDip then, or at least thinking about it while I should be doing other stuff, so now I just play one at a time.
14 Aug 19 UTC That is definitely true! The problem with one at a time though is if things are going badly or being super slow it's very frustrating
14 Aug 19 UTC This is why two way draws don’t work. Haha the math to do it is tricky.
