27 Aug 19 UTC Good game, I would have done everything to prevent a Turkish solo...
27 Aug 19 UTC GG you two. Yeah, that much was apparent now.
27 Aug 19 UTC That was quite a nice position to take over Italy btw!
27 Aug 19 UTC yes thanks to my predecessor for that :)
27 Aug 19 UTC Yep, well played guys. This one probably lasted about 5 years longer than it should have (it was a fairly obvious draw situation after Russia was defeated)... but I can't say I didn't have fun playing a few more years ;)
27 Aug 19 UTC Well played to you guys. Thanks for being (mostly) loyal to near the end Turkey. You hurt me pretty badly with the move to Black Sea in 1904 though interested what that was. Once Black Sea was clear I thought we were set and I had Austria on the ropes. But I had to retreat and then Austria never forgave me it seemed. (To both our destructions). I had a faint hope 2/3 of the way in that Italy would start to dominate and Germany would back off (were there missed moves around the replacement, didn’t notice). Thanks for the game
27 Aug 19 UTC @dagabsO: You are of course right, but I wasn't sure if the new italian player was any decent. Turns out he wasn't the total scrub that I needed him to be to have a shot at a solo!
27 Aug 19 UTC @grahamso1: Your "failure" to support yourself to Galicia in fall 1902 coupled with the reluctance to lend me a hand in 1903 led to the loss of my second army - and consequently any shot I had to progress anywhere. And while I was kind of forced to work with you in light of that austrian-italian alliance, I really didn't wanted to let Vienna, Budapest and eventually Trieste fall to you (heck, you could even have captured Serbia as well), thus the move to the Black Sea. If you would have captured either Vienna or Serbia in spring 1904, I would definately have attacked you right there and then (didn't really fancy the thought of giving you the option of building a fleet in Sevastopol).
27 Aug 19 UTC All in all the early game was rather frustrating for me. The one chance I had to make things interesting, I unfortunately blew by changing my orders at the very last minute (in retrospect one is always the wiser - at first I attacked AEG from EMed instead of Smy (plus Bul-Ser) in Spring 1903, which would have led to an austrian retreat into ION). From there on, all I could do was play defense for quite a while.
