Game drawn
24 Jul 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Good game, everyone :) first non-anonymous game in a long time for me, hehe
24 Jul 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Just to let y'all know, I'm based in Europe so will be mostly active in European timezone ;)
25 Jul 18 UTC Spring, 1901: It's a pity that this game is unranked, there seems to be some really interesting alliances going on.
25 Jul 18 UTC Spring, 1901: The game is becoming interesting indeed
25 Jul 18 UTC Spring, 1901: I think the unranked aspect encourages unusual alliances / less conservative thinking. Hows everyone feeling about a League of Nations alliance?
25 Jul 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Well England, here, has a point. We may play more openly as it is unranked.
27 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1901: Just ready your orders guys. No point in wasting a day to wait for builds.
27 Jul 18 UTC Spring, 1902: Don't trust france
28 Jul 18 UTC Spring, 1902: The French builds...damn
29 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1902: France do you want my help or not
03 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1904: Apparently France doesn't want anyone's help.
03 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1904: I'm just playing an unusual alliance ;)
03 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1904: Good gravy, he's going for the Froggernaut
04 Aug 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Now it looks like a triple alliance
04 Aug 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Norway moves to Tunis via convoy, lets make it happen people
04 Aug 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: If you move a couple of fleets it will reach Syria!
04 Aug 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: We would welcome our Norwegian friends in Tunis. There is a dearth of fine Scandinavian cuisine here and we here the Norse fleet has some of the finest cooks in Europe.
09 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1906: Instead of talking to France, Russia and Germany all individually can I just talk to you all out here? Great, thanks, every single one of you, my neighbors, has either stabbed me at some point or looks like they will. I haven't done anything to any of you without you first making a move on me. I'm perfectly content with what I have now and Germany seems to want to keep me around. So if the three of you can clean up the Austian and the Turk, we can convoy me to Tunis and ride off into the sunset. Sound good?
10 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1906: Ah, but you did attack me, invaded Russia soil and turned back because Germany threatened you.
10 Aug 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: I never touched Russian soil, unless the Barents has an island I don't know about...
10 Aug 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: Finland is Russian soil, my friend.
10 Aug 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: We had an agreement and I promptly moved back out
10 Aug 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: And I took it back.
Well Austria is almost out, are we going to draw on a 5-way?
10 Aug 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: That's what I'm shooting for
10 Aug 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: We'll see in Spring 1907 if it is so.
10 Aug 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: Hope i get some points and respect for taking over and keeping balance on the board. I’m finding the balance between the top three interesting and glad to just be playing
11 Aug 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: It is unranked, we gain no points. Just the pleasure of the game.
11 Aug 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: I meant brownie points with you guys... I don't really track Dippoints.
12 Aug 18 UTC Spring of 07 has sprung, what's the verdict?
12 Aug 18 UTC Got away with one here :/ thanks anyway, was an interesting game!
12 Aug 18 UTC It was a good game, See you around guys.
12 Aug 18 UTC That was a very interesting game. I tried to get a western triple going, that didnt go so well for me a few times. Had to maintain balance between France and Germany
12 Aug 18 UTC Special congrats to France who managed to convince Italy to move to the Aegean and not take Tunis.
Also, why, Germany? I'm curious to know what swayed you to attack me instead.
12 Aug 18 UTC I would have liked to see that one play out, but being on the loosing end happy to draw. Look forward to other games with you guys, stab you later.
12 Aug 18 UTC Good game everyone. For my first ever game of Diplomacy, this was an interesting experience. Austria, it was just strategy. At the time, I had a strong alliance with Russia and France, and you happened to be in the middle. Turkey, thank you for coming in to play, even if it was only for a few turns, and making the game that much more of an experience. Not if I stab you first.

Hope I get play again with you guys in another game.
12 Aug 18 UTC My suggestion to you Germany for games going forward is make sure you look at all the moves everyone else can take when you stab them. That's why I was able to steal Sweden and Denmark from you when I realized that you were going to attack me
12 Aug 18 UTC Thank you. I'll take that into consideration.
12 Aug 18 UTC Re Aegean sea: I really just expected the bounce and was planning to leave Italy alone. The Turkish move A Bul-Ser, F Con-Bul was simply very surprising to say the least. Then it was too tempting not to take advantage...

Re Western Triple: I just came off a game where I was England, had a strong alliance with France, seized Scandinavia and eliminated German/Russian fleets - so obviously next I stabbed a France that was entangled with Italy without making a lot of gains (as it happens so often). That's perhaps why I was very, very cautious from the beginning regarding my English backdoor (and trying to keep Germany aware). How it all ended up was a bit unfortunate, miscommunication here and there and in the end that terrible move to lose Trieste I simply didn't look carefully enough (instead of setting up a solid stalemate with A Pie, A Ven; sacrificing Trie)...

England, I was really impressed with your game, always seeing opportunities, I loved that gambit letting Germany get three builds to get him on your side - hurt me a lot!

Russia, I loved how you managed to stay out of trouble in most regions (that F StP holding forever was great), dissecting selectively where you could make gains - well done!

Austria, the only reason I attacked you eventually was because I needed a change in alliances. At that time I was facing resurging EG and an Ottoman that was back in the game, most likely eventually emerging into the Mediterranean... The only chance I saw at that point was to force Russia to get involved with either of the remaining EGT after the conflict with Austria was decided... I knew in that case I might be able to hold a single front but certainly couldn't hold two fronts.

I learned a lot and enjoyed it, see you around - although I think I will have a break now, just spending too much time :) Cheers from Vienna, Austria :D
12 Aug 18 UTC I'm surprised I lasted until 1906 as Austria, my record before was 1903(the Russian found Austrian centers tempting in that game). I find Austria's a hard country to keep the balance between the neighbors and to draw their attention elsewhere.
Again, congrats to France on excellent diplomacy, I had to fight the urge of believing things you said.
12 Aug 18 UTC Austria and Italy are difficult countries and require skill to survive, let alone prosper.
The main reason I agreed to the 5-way draw is that both Germany and Turkey had been good allies and I am not fond of stabbing those who had stood by me.
