People of Europe. What will remain when the bombs fail to fall? What will remain when the bullets are gone? What will remain when the last life is given for this war?

As it stands, nothing.

This foolish endeavor has ruined entire countries, entire villages, and entire families. Tears crest down wrinkled faces onto the corpses of a brother, a son, a child. The old bury the young, and for what? For the chance of politicians and bureaucrats to claim "victory".

With so much lost, can there ever be a victory? With so much death, is that sweet taste tainted by the blood of the young, and the death of the innocent? Let us be done with this war. No more I say! This is not the belief of Parliament, or the Queen. This is the belief of London, of England, of the entire British Empire, of Europe, of the World! I call for Austria to stand down, cease hostilities, and assume its rightful place above all...but below Britain. There is, and never will be shame in promoting peace.

The stories of the Austrian valor, as Russians and Turks poured into Galicia and Bulgaria are told through camps across Europe. The landing of Smyrna was a move of tactical genius. The thousands of men that sacrificed themselves upon the walls and trenches of Constantinople are legendary. But do not ask more from your people than what is already given.

Let families mourn their dead, and let the rebuilding, and the healing, begin. I ask that the Austrian government refrain from the battles in Italy. There is no more need for senseless bloodshed. There can be no Austrian Victory, but there can be a place for Austria in the new European order.

Your men and women have fought bravely. Return the favor. Do yourselves this one brave act, and stand down.
