09 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1928: Russia, can you enter support for me to Bulgaria?
09 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1928: *and move to Armenia**
09 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1928: hah! that would be lovely
09 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1928: Germany, I'll move to Venice if you be pinky promise not to follow
09 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1928: I'm in full retreat.
09 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1928: Turkey please hold me in Spain
09 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1928: I don't trust these two.
09 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1928: No Turkey, it's a trap!
10 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1928: Can we skip the part where we all turn on each other for 1-2 centers in order to pound ourselves on the chest? There is still a very real solo threat here. I'm still supporting Marseilles holding, and I'll be watching the game in the final minutes of the phase to make sure that Germany/Austria do not try to coordinate to take out Russia.

No funny business.
10 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1928: @Austria, if you move to Venice, you're a dick.
10 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1928: I mean, so long as we hold Marseilles, we can afford to give up Moscow and Warsaw, right?
10 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1928: Stop trolling. If you think it's fun to sell us all out for one or two centers at the end of the game, please do it after Germany does his so-called "full retreat" and the solo is off the table. We all know he's not retreating, and he'd be glad to move an army into Tyrolia if you invite him there.
10 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1928: he can have Marseilles, warsaw, and Moscow.
10 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1928: Spain/Portugal are more important ;-)
10 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1928: Austria, I'm supporting you into Spain and Moscow. My other units are moving out of harm's way.
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: Russia, after 28 years you still don't know when I'm trolling? Turkey got it right away haha
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: Turkey, plz support Services to Rumania and cut Sev. There must be vengeance for Ukraine!

Also the game will be drawn after this, so plz for the lulz
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: Whoever finishes the game with Rum wins, right? Or did I misread the rules?
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: I know you are always stuck in troll mode. ;-). Just being cautious. I played a long time to get eliminated at this point.
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: Congratulations Turkey.
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: I know you voted me out of survivor and I can never fully trust again.
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: I'm going for the solo.
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: I beat Turkey in 1v1, which is what let's meet sleep at night
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: Sorry if this disrupts your future sleep patterns, but beating me at 1-on-1 hardly makes you unique. I suck at 1-on-1 and I "[have] no understand of diplomacy beyond bullying other players and claiming everything is their fault."
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: Also, Germany is going to top this board, not me. I just had to hang on and survive because I had awesome teammates who did all the work for me.

10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: Well, you played extremely cautious for the draw like you had to. I went for the win - and failed, that lets me sleep at night.
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: Did I? I don't know...I didn't FEEL cautious. I just felt like I was constantly fighting for my survival, without much hope of seeking more. You and Austria didn't give me an inch.

For what it's worth, I think Russia may have had better fortunes sticking with me and killing Austria. There were a few opportunities to do that, and Russia always stabbed me whenever we started to get going. I don't know, I actually think Russia had decent prospects teaming up with me. Not sure what exactly caused you to be so quick with the knife.
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: Honestly speaking Turkey, you're right. I'm not a very trusting person, which is why games that I'm in frequently drag on and boil down like this.

Trust leads to solos. Which is why I have so few of them and why so few people have them against me
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: As soon as you were down I would've set about trying to prevent the Black Sea from becoming a permanent Russian lake
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: I feel like Turkey – the majority of the game was dancing around trying not to get my neighbors to kill me. France and Russia had several opportunities to take me out but couldn't let the other one grow too big.

It's been an interesting game in that it mixed very volatile phases with those two drawn-out stalemates, first FGR vs AT and then (after a phase of all-over confusion) F vs AGRT. My bulk diplomacy experience is from shorter face-to-face games where there's really just time for one stalemate, not the two separate ones we had.
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: Austria, I was so onboard to attack Russia in the early/midgame, but then you jumped the gun before England was eliminated and I felt I had to save Russia from elimination. Would have been interesting (like with all the other decisions that were made) to see what had happened if we'd managed a coordinated attack.
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: It's been a good game with good folks. Would love to do another PP game sometime. It's so much livelier with banter than FP
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: Turkey you may be right, but my read was that when it came down to 2 large powers and 1 small you wouldn't be interested in pushing for 2 way (possible solo opportunity for either of us), which was likely true as you had the math in your favor. I wanted a partner willing to roll the dice.

This was my first quality PP, I really enjoyed it. It's quite a different medium than FP. Would play again.
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: But I love 2-way draws! They're like my favorite thing!

In my experience, you need someone on the other side of your 2-way push who is very confident in their own ability. That's me!!! (to a fault).

Would have been interesting navigating a two-way push with you. I have a feeling that we both would have negotiated pretty hard to hold the upper hand, and we'd have quite a few games of seeing who blinks first (like we ended up having over Rumania early in the "Stop France" alliance). I think we both would have agreed to make the push, with a healthy amount of skepticism of the other guy, and we might have been able to get there.

But I doubt either one of us would solo out of a 2-way push. I think we'd both be too skeptical for that. I think we either complete the push after painstaking negotiation, or we both blink and settle for the 3-way.
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: There was also the issue that France was the 3rd in that equation and you basically had your arm elbow deep up his ass all game. It's hard to negotiate or persuade someone that doesn't make decisions in any normal way.
10 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: I miss the dead people. I quite enjoyed playing with Weenston, and Eeetaly. Have you guys been following along, or are we all sort of dead to you?
11 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: @France, it was a pleasure playing with you. You made some great moves, and had the best position multiple times. You also stuck with me at a few moments when I was awfully vulnerable.

Ultimately, Dixie coaxed you into a premature solo run and a stab of Cascadia, and I'm afraid that was your downfall. The lesson: never stab Cascadia; never listen to Dixie.
11 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: I find your meta gaming deplorable Turkey ;-P
11 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: ALL HAIL CASCADIA!!!!!

12 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: As GM, I am announcing that I am changing the rules. The game will no longer be forced drawn in 1930, but rather when I solo.
12 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: Also, I recall stabbing Cascadia multiple times and I'm doing fairly well for myself
12 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1928: Okay, well I'm not letting y'all eliminate Russia. So you may amuse yourself however you wish, or draw and wrap this up.
13 Aug 17 UTC Draw please.
