06 Aug 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: To those who have had trouble reaching me, I apologize. I'm backpacking on vacation now and have spotty internet connection
27 Aug 16 UTC Spring, 1906: On the road with sketchy data connection but almost back from vacation, so I should be able to play more quickly soon.
30 Aug 16 UTC Well gents, that's the game. I'm voting draw.
30 Aug 16 UTC Yeah, I'm afraid Germany's right. While I obviously would've preferred a larger slice of the pie, I think there's no way this stalemate can be broken.
30 Aug 16 UTC Long love the independentistas in Albania!
30 Aug 16 UTC Well played all. I must say that in this game, I immensely enjoyed figuring out how to stalemate it, as well as anticipating (correctly!) the moves of the opponents. I feel extremely satisfied at how it all turned out.

Credit to Germany and France for playing their parts to the end, asking me to stab Italy every step of the way. And of course, my ally Italy, for a great time planning and plotting from the very start, creating an alliance that worked surprisingly well despite its rarity and reputation.

My apologies to the three eliminated: better luck next time around! And as for my decision not to stab Italy, which I admit I was perilously close to doing several times, it was due to the fact that I had no chance to solo. Given that, the difference between a 3-way draw and a 4-way draw simply wasn't enough for me to risk getting eliminated, as once Italy was gone, France and Germany certainly could have defeated me with ease if they willed.

Once again, thank you all for a great game. Hope to find myself playing against you again sometime soon.
30 Aug 16 UTC Gg everyone.
30 Aug 16 UTC Great game, lots of drama. Credit to whoever titled the game, it was a "fairly normal game." I started as Lepanto - invasion of Turkey, but was convinced that the Austrian reversal stab
30 Aug 16 UTC was the way to go. That and the expansion then destruction of England paced the game. Focused destruction of Russia followed by quick French repositioning made the Turk/Italian
30 Aug 16 UTC hasty stalemate line rush the final step.

Nice work all.
30 Aug 16 UTC Oh, and biggest thanks to Turkey for a) your insight and patience, and b) not stabbing the hell out of me. I think your rationale was right in that it would likely have led to dual elimination by FG.
30 Aug 16 UTC I was basically that ugly little kid brother you want to throw out of the car, but just can't. Such is Italy.
31 Aug 16 UTC I was basically that ugly little kid brother you want to throw out of the car, but just can't. Such is Italy.
01 Sep 16 UTC I still say that Turkey would've been safe, as 2-way draws are exceedingly rare, but whatever. :P

Anyway, good job, everyone. That was fun and frustrating, just as Diplomacy should be.
