30 Nov 16 UTC | Alright, fine! I really thought that once I cleared England out of Spain, I might have a chance. But, apparently not.... Good game, guys! |
30 Nov 16 UTC | Good game! Poland, what a fantastic job! We were really efficient together. Ukraine, sorry for stabbing but I needed the access to the frontline with armies in Pol/Rum and Bul to properly assist Poland. Same for you Egypt, I didn't really know how to handle the status because you were too much aggressive against me and not enough against Italy for my taste :) But hey, we made a great job eventually and saved the game. Congratulations guys! |
30 Nov 16 UTC | To be honest I don't even remember this game. I thought it ended long ago but apparently not. Oh well GG |
30 Nov 16 UTC | Thanks for the props, Russia. And also thanks for not stabbing me after I started setting a line against Italy. Poland is one of the worst starting positions in gunboat. I just hoped to survive the initial crush and try to be useful in midgame. |
30 Nov 16 UTC | Right, Poland is tricky in GB. Funny detail is that we started fighting each other, then united vs England, then worked with England against Italy. Our alliance was so productive and your line vs Italy so crucial that a stab was out of the question for me. I even used a support once to offer you a retreat back to Moscow or Kiev I think to make sure you could secure your line. |
01 Dec 16 UTC | Ebb and flow of the game, bra. |
01 Dec 16 UTC | Well played guys. When I took over, we had quite an interesting unit placement situation, Russia. Took us a while to get our communication straight, but we eventually figured out enough to do the job. I'm curious - what were you trying to tell me when you kept ordering your army in Adana-Alexandria (while Italy was still there)? |
01 Dec 16 UTC | This army -in Syria at the time I think- was not very useful there, next to 2 of your SCs. So I was just proposing a convoy through your fleet in EAS to jump there and fight on the frontline! :) I saw that Egypt has been validating empty orders for a while (something I've seen in other games but never quite understood) but did not notice that someone else took over. Thanks for this by the way. |
01 Dec 16 UTC | Gotcha. At the time, he held Alexandria, Libyan sea, and Eastern Sahara - so there was no chance I could get either you or me into Alex. until I had broken into the Libyan sea. No problem Watson. |
01 Dec 16 UTC | Mhm... I don't think so. Had you supported that move in Spring 2015 for instance, instead of taking Alex with Eastern med it would have succeeded and it would not have left Aegean sea open. But I don't mind, it was just a proposal for the long term, to let you know that since this army had nothing better to do I would keep ordering that to let you the option available. Plus it could help keep Italy under pressure. No problem indeed. |
02 Dec 16 UTC | GG all, this game did rock back and forth and I thought I might get overwhelmed by Italy in the end but with Russian help stopped you. Thanks for that. I had opportunity to stab Poland but knew if I did Russia would benefit too much and so I held off. Once I was sure Russia wouldn't stab me because of Risk of Italian I threw all my unit against him and basically converted all units to fleets to hold the line. |
