09 May 15 UTC gg guys
09 May 15 UTC I would have kept playing but I am out and about and it's getting too distracting to play
09 May 15 UTC gg
09 May 15 UTC GREAT alliance Eli
09 May 15 UTC For a game where I only had 4 supply centers, it was a huge amount of fun.
09 May 15 UTC I thought Germany had the win, but only because England refused to put any pressure on him. England, do you care to explain?
09 May 15 UTC Thanks, you too! Amazed that we were smart enough to NOT stab

09 May 15 UTC GG all.
09 May 15 UTC Almost stabbed a couple of times, but that would have opened it up for Austria and Italy.
09 May 15 UTC Jamie I wanted to help you so badly.
09 May 15 UTC maybe there is a level I am missing -- I'm not a master of stalemate lines and such -- but I thought Paris should have been grabbed a year or two ago or Germany was going to solo in this WTA.

09 May 15 UTC Yeah Germany could have won. I'm sure MichiganMan knows it too. But go back a few years and if England had even tried a little to stop him we would have forced the draw

09 May 15 UTC I could have pushed for a solo ... But I had a feeling England was going to react if I pushed too much. I think NOT stabbing was the key, despite what AH said. I was reasonably well protected at home. England could have grabbed one or so, but it wasn't like I was totally wide open.
09 May 15 UTC oh, wow, sorry all that it repeated my message 3 times.
09 May 15 UTC I guess the win wasn't guaranteed though, because at some point England would hopefully wake up and do something besides appeasement. Effing Neville Chamberlain over there
09 May 15 UTC Yeah, I'm still a newb, but I like trying to seek cooperation in the game, so what you're saying makes decent sense to me.

Only one or two times I would have stabbed.

But, yeah, I'm just really happy to draw (obviously).
09 May 15 UTC Super-fun game.
09 May 15 UTC Great game everyone. England I'm sure you played better than I'm giving you credit for, that's just how it looked from my side of the board
09 May 15 UTC England wasn't appeasing as much as you imply. I was helping him and remaining conscious of our alliance move wise. If either of us stabbed it would have done nothing but needlessly stir up a hornets nest, and tip the balance in your (AH) favor. We had a good thing going and there is no reason to disrupt it. I think THAT is the art of this this game. Stabbing is all well and good, and has its place, but alliance building and maintanence is what the game is really all about.
09 May 15 UTC Yeah, and, after all, in gunboat there is no press to turn a relationship.

Last night I played a game and got a stab out of someone just being like "DUUUDE, you only life once . . . go for it."

No such role for promises, charisma, etc to break the alliance, so just keep it chugging.
