15 Mar 15 UTC gg everyone
15 Mar 15 UTC Thanks for coming back France!!
15 Mar 15 UTC gg
15 Mar 15 UTC It would have been an interesting finish without you...
15 Mar 15 UTC Close call Turkey -- good game.
15 Mar 15 UTC Nice job Russia and France detecting the Turkish threat and workign together,
15 Mar 15 UTC Sorry england for putting you out... but I thought perhaps Turkey wasn't willign to do a 5-way but would accept a 4-way
15 Mar 15 UTC well i wasn't that good, it's just that italy loved me :)
15 Mar 15 UTC S'01 double army build for green? the writing was on the wall right then.
15 Mar 15 UTC No, that was an error. But it didn't change that I was in the middle with zero help from a schizo France.
15 Mar 15 UTC At first you two had a Jug going by appearance, France was all over the place, then I couldn't stop Turkey no matter what so I thought to hamper Germany give France and England time to get together but that never happened
15 Mar 15 UTC Thanks guys.
15 Mar 15 UTC if you build double fleet there and go at turkey, that could have been successful. what convinced you to make moves at me and Germany?
15 Mar 15 UTC Turkey taking Rum in '02 should have been the automatic assumption that there was no juggernaut and turkey was going to be starting a solo run and i would be working to stop it.
15 Mar 15 UTC Well you allowed Turkey to grow and come right at me with minimal interference. I had Turkey at my door and yes the Army build was a critical error. However, you will notice I had to get creative when it was apparent France and England couldn't do anything and out of you Ger and Tur, only Turkey was pressing me.

If that makes a bit more sense.
15 Mar 15 UTC if by allowing turkey to grow you mean busy defending/eliminating an irrational austria, then yes i allowed turkey to grow. but whose fault is it that austria got destroyed like that? it's mostly yours :)
15 Mar 15 UTC not an irrational austria, a desperate austria
15 Mar 15 UTC there's a reason it usually is beneficial for italy to ally with austria early in gunboat games. i've seen an early italian play work out before with an initial attack on austria, but that always accompanies a weak turkey and/or russia. you didn't have either this game.
15 Mar 15 UTC and i had not idea of the strength of the players prior to Spring. You cannot suggest that my text book opening via Austria was tactically unsound.
15 Mar 15 UTC The opening did not pay off because of other factors, but those are in hindsight.
15 Mar 15 UTC Italy doesn't have a mandate to offer alliance to Austria in gunboat and let's be honest, Austria folds often in gunboat just because they don't like the draw
15 Mar 15 UTC yep you were debatably alright up to when you built 2 armies. with two fleets there, you would probably be able to hold trieste, and could have maneuvered into position to slam turkey with my help. that should be the expectation i think of any italian gunboat player who opens against austria, to work with Russia against Turkey in the mid-game.
15 Mar 15 UTC those fleets would also dissuade any aggression from France
15 Mar 15 UTC a juggernaut in gunboat really only works smoothly to take out austria, it's very difficult to coordinate expanding that to italy without infighting to start.
15 Mar 15 UTC I agree with your analysis and that was a simple but critical error on my part. I was refreshing my screens and having issues, never saw it reset to two armies. Thanks for your help, I wish it would have went smoother. I am always learning.
