22 Dec 14 UTC | Autumn, 5: I encourage everyone to check their email (the one your account is linked to), I got this email from the site today...& responded, and let them know that this game is password protected so even though we are playing with family, it does not break the rules they posted on the site. Dear WebDiplomacy member, There have been suspicions raised as to the individuality of yours and certain other accounts. Our systems have flagged these accounts with a strong likelihood of being owned and operated by the same individual and/or a strong case of metagaming (playing with people you know outside of the site). As you should know, these offenses are a breach of the WebDiplomacy rules http://www.webdiplomacy.net/rules.php. If there is anything you would like to tell me that would help explain the situation I would be grateful if you would respond to this email. Admission to the fact will not necessarily mean the worst possible punishment, since we all do make mistakes, but if I don't hear anything in the next 3 days I will assume the worst and will punish accordingly. -WebDiplomacy Moderator |
22 Dec 14 UTC | Autumn, 5: This is stated right in the rules- we did not break any rules- Because Diplomacy is a social game, we always encourage playing with friends. However, you should always do so in a private, password-protected game and make sure that every player knows about any real life connections before the game begins. |
