25 Oct 09 UTC Spring, 1901: wow! It's been since last season since I played. Looks like lots of new features. Any big ones I should know about?
25 Oct 09 UTC Spring, 1901: Umm... new features... ummm... North Sea is now impassable, so don't bother moving there.

Can't think of anything else. ;)
29 Oct 09 UTC Spring, 1902: I smell blood.... that is, my blood. :P
30 Oct 09 UTC Autumn, 1902: Soory about recent lack of press and erratic decisions. I'm, um, travelling around Amsterdam at the moment and am thus... somewhat distrcted. :D

Will be back to proper form on Monday. :)
03 Nov 09 UTC Autumn, 1903: so I can't enter orders...
03 Nov 09 UTC Autumn, 1903: had me nervous there, tried it 3 times since that last post, and they just wouldn't go through.
03 Nov 09 UTC Autumn, 1903: Should we pause the game?
03 Nov 09 UTC Autumn, 1903: it's good now. it just makes me wonder what is going on. When we started, the orders expanded without need for hitting save 3 times.
03 Nov 09 UTC Autumn, 1903: quickest death ever.
05 Nov 09 UTC Autumn, 1903: My apologies everyone. I have had a family emergency come up over the last few days and have not been here to return messages. I am back now and will be answering the messages.
06 Nov 09 UTC Spring, 1904: I have also been problematically absent. Things are back to relative normalcy though, so I should be able to answer y'all again.

On another note, I created the second league game here; http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=15073

See you! :)
14 Nov 09 UTC Spring, 1906: I am proposing a draw as I think we are going to get htere anyway.
14 Nov 09 UTC Spring, 1906: I am proposing to eliminate Italy and Germany as I think they will be eliminated anyway :-)
14 Nov 09 UTC Spring, 1906: The one problem with your proposal is that if I fall the stalemate line is crossed and it becomes a route for both Austria and Russia.
17 Nov 09 UTC Autumn, 1906: Great job everyone (E). The eastern monster advances... ^.^
18 Nov 09 UTC Autumn, 1906: Everyone, I will be traveling all next week for Thanksgiving and will not be able to be online starting Friday 20 Nov-29 Nov. I am requesting a pause to game 2. I may not need it in game 1 as I may not be around much longer.
20 Nov 09 UTC Spring, 1907: Looks like I will need a pause in this game as well. I will input orders for the Spring 1907 turn and then please vote for a pause. I will not be able to check in until 30 Nov.
29 Nov 09 UTC I am back...thank you all for the pause.
02 Dec 09 UTC It seems that some players are not coming back to this site. This game is not going to get unpaused then...
08 Dec 09 UTC has anyone contacted Ghost about the issue we face? Who is not coming back?
08 Dec 09 UTC Looks like Friendly Sword is gone. He is also supposed to start the third game.
08 Dec 09 UTC I can send Ghost an e-mail if no one else did it yet.
15 Dec 09 UTC Game 3 is set. Please join thru the link:

I understand that FS is going to be replaced by a new player. As for El Perro, are you still here?
03 Jan 10 UTC Could we already unpause the League games?
03 Jan 10 UTC I am ready when everyoine else is, but we had agreed to wait until after the holidays. Either way I am fine.
05 Jan 10 UTC FS needs to be replaced before we can play on.
19 Jan 10 UTC This game has been paused for over one month, and there is no sign that FS and El_Perro is going to return. Should we get moderator's intervention?
19 Jan 10 UTC Yes, we probably should.
31 Jan 10 UTC France, would you unpause, please?
31 Jan 10 UTC And Marek, do you agree to draw the first two games, as discussed in the email?
31 Jan 10 UTC I would prefer to continue playing and to discuss a possible draw in every game separately.
31 Jan 10 UTC Marek, we have 3 people CD. Please explain why you want to continue this. Any play beyond this point is not representative of legitimate tournament play.
31 Jan 10 UTC See my answer in the game 2. Yes, you are right that "any play beyond this point is not representative of legitimate tournament play." So why do you want a draw, which is a legitimate game end producing a legitimate result?
31 Jan 10 UTC Because it gives a result to games 1 and 2 a scorable finish for the remaining players. It is beyond the point where we could redo games 1 and 2, and I don't see a reason to penalize the remaining players for their play up to this point. We would get credit for surviving to this point and for the SCs we've aquired.
31 Jan 10 UTC If we don't penalize current remaining players in the League, we will penalize the new players that will join us for the rest of the games.
31 Jan 10 UTC And anyway, even if we want to draw the game, we have to unpause it first.
31 Jan 10 UTC Historically, replacements have not been given the points the player replacing them had earned.
31 Jan 10 UTC the player they are replacing*
31 Jan 10 UTC I would like to resolve if this game will be drawn, canceled, or continued before unpausing it.
31 Jan 10 UTC Marek has stated a very noble point. If we draw both games, the four continuous players will have a head start in points when competing for league position.

Under normal circumstances, this is not a problem. The game rule clearly states that substitute players will only get points for games they play, and are not in equal footing with the original players (well, they are usually from the lower leagues, and are given the opportunity to promote, which is already the appeal).

However, when 3 players got CD, the situation is rather extreme. I suppose Marek raised the issue whether we should treat the league with substitutes as a new league, right?

I am ok to either draw or cancel the game. The moderator, as expressed in the email, tend to follow the old rule and draw. What do the others think?
31 Jan 10 UTC In fact, we would create three groups of players in the consecutive league games: 1) Three players with full number of points, 2) zscheck, who is defeated here, with half number of points and 3) three new players with zero points.
01 Feb 10 UTC I'm okay with either drawing or canceling the game, and would lean toward the draw.
