26 Oct 09 UTC Spring, 1901: Since we are hunting rabbits in Europe I thought it would be helpful to know what Wikipedia says concerning the subject: The European Rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) is a species of rabbit native to south west Europe (Spain and Portugal). Very helpful that.
27 Oct 09 UTC Spring, 1901: France to England - Eng Chan as DMZ?
27 Oct 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: France to Germany - Me Belgium, you Holland? Burgundy DMZ?
27 Oct 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: To France - sure, DMZ in the EC is a deal.
27 Oct 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: This is a gunboat game - that means no talking.
27 Oct 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: It's ambiguous: The alternative Rules listed above here say: "Public messaging only", which is what we are doing here; however the (very long...) title of this Game says at its end: [GUNBO, whatever that means..... Contradictory, in any case - which leads me at least to conclude that any of us here can choose to do whichever we want to: Either use this Global forum, or shut up, or a bit of both.....?
27 Oct 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: I think it is clearly meant to be gunboat.
http://webdiplomacy.net/forum.php?viewthread=490610#490610 explains that some gunboat games leave public press on so that pause requests can be made.
27 Oct 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: The site has rules enforcement - the creator choose the "Global messages only" option and not the "No in-game messaging" option. So this is a public press only game.
27 Oct 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: There might be a character limit on game titles - probably the "AT]" got cut off.
27 Oct 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: Normally people choose to leave the global open on gunboats so pause request and other general messages can be posted on that. But we have to decide what will be the rules, as it´s unfair some play like gunboat and others as public press.
27 Oct 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: Further evidence: http://webdiplomacy.net/forum.php?viewthread=489851#489851
27 Oct 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: Pause/Draw requests are visible on the panel below the map - there is no need to use the global chat for that.
27 Oct 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: Ok, if that is what the creator intended - I can live with that if all others agree.
27 Oct 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: I've been in games with no messaging where pause requests go ignored, and it sucks. It's much harder to pretend to not see an actual request that has a reason and time frame attached. Draws I agree should not be talked about.
27 Oct 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: This is obviously gunboat. If you can't tell from the title (BE QUIET!), you should OBVIOUSLY be able to infer it from the [GUNBO at the end.
27 Oct 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: Furthermore in the thread which advertised it in the forums, it was specifically mentioned as an anonymous WTA gunboat.
27 Oct 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: For me it has no difference, can play either gunboat or public press, but we have to decide soon an stick to one rule. I suggest each one vote and majority decide.
27 Oct 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: I vote gunboat.
27 Oct 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: I vote public press (that is what I joined in the first place)
27 Oct 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: No. You didn't. You're just can't read.
