28 Jul 14 UTC Spring, 1996: Cue the Jeopardy final question music . . . . . .
28 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: (not posting as Italy, posting as just me):

I'm thoroughly enjoying this game, i say we go ahead and make a pack that we have a rematch of all the same players after this game is over. Thoughts?
28 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: And if one person does want to drop out, my Fiance (who is a geek at heart) is interested in playing, but her strategy skills might not be all that. (I can see her now, "Who would want to take Bulgaria over, it sounds like a venereal disease.... i hooked up with some strange and caught Bulgaria.... ")
28 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: I'm in!
28 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: Sure. But since we're all anonymous, how would we find the new game?
28 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: We could find an interesting variant on the diplomacy variants site and post a link to it here:

http://www.vdiplomacy.com/variants.php
28 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: Could we start the new game right before this one passed? And why do we have to stay anonymous in the new game anyway?
28 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: Don't see why not.
29 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: Whoever set up the game chose anonymous. As long as we have enough players, we can set up a game and play with regular names.
29 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: Any interest in one of the variants below:

29 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: I would really like to try fall of the American empire.
29 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: I'm interested, and I'd be up for Fall of the American Empire.
29 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: id be up for Fall of the American Empire too
29 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: I guess we could start that when this game is close to finishing.
29 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: I would dispute that
29 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: What are you disputing? You aren't interested in fall of American Empire?
29 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: He wasn't saying the game is close to finishing. He's saying when it is close to finishing we should make the new game.
29 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: yeah that. Only issue with fall of is that we would need additional players
29 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: scratch that, 10 players as well. I'm game
29 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: I'm sure we wouldn't have much trouble finding a few replacements.
30 Jul 14 UTC Spring, 1997: Romano Prodi, President of the Council of Ministers in an emergency cabinet meeting today, asked for Council for a Declaration of War against Ukraine.

Prodi, “In the past, Italy has stood with our neighbors when atrocities were committed against them by less than honorable nations. Today, via our vast intelligence network, we learned that Ukraine has been attempting to thwart Italy’s sovereignty in the region. As our partners stood with us against France and Egypt, we ask that our partners stand with us again, against this Ukrainian menace. “

When asked about the Declaration of War, Prodi replied, ”The Council of Ministers was hesitant to declare war on a country that had not attacked us, but with overwhelming evidence of the impending attack, Italy had no choice but to declare war in kind. Ci benedica tutti “
30 Jul 14 UTC Spring, 1997: The Central Committee of the Ukraine condemns the Italian incursion into the Slovenian neutral zone and its harsh subjugation of the people there. Italy's aggressive expansionism is a threat to all and the Central Committee would call upon all fair and just minded nations to resist the Italian encroachment. The Central Committee is dedicated to defending its home territory and making no pretensions to conquest in the west.
30 Jul 14 UTC Spring, 1997: I like Sauerkraut!!
30 Jul 14 UTC Spring, 1997: Spain's main concern is continued access to Italian cheese and Ukrainian ham.
30 Jul 14 UTC Spring, 1997: Poland is worried about what all the fighting around it is going to do to property values in the region.
31 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: *tugs at collar* so how about that new game boys lets call this one a draw eh? eh?
31 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: So much for that ham.
31 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=145295 The Fall of the American Empire game was created. The password is bob
31 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: Look forward to meeting you all again in the American Empire.
31 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: Turkey, concerned by the build up of foreign forces in the Black Sea area is joining the Italian-Ukrainian war on the side of the free Italian people. The Turkish government shall repel the threat on our border in the name of self-defence and declares war on Ukraine.
31 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: The Central Committee of the Ukraine distributed a political cartoon among its state newspapers this evening depicting Turkish Intelligence Officials asleep at their computers. The caption on the cartoon simply reads 'Only took them 2 years to notice!'
31 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: I think he's got you there Turkey.
31 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: LOVE IT!
31 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: Macdonalds???
You mean " I'm ________ !"
31 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: Think Turkey can do their turn within 7 minutes?
31 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: Think Turkey will log on in the next 7 minutes? :P
31 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: I hear there are riots on the streets, preventing the Prime Minister from issuing orders. :)
31 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: Oooh man, if Ukraine can take advantage of that, it is going to be really rough.
01 Aug 14 UTC Spring, 1998: Usually I would ready up so that the game can continue, unfortunately I have to have this phase @ max this phase length in order to ensure that I am online for the next phase. Id anything changes I will get online and ready my orders.
01 Aug 14 UTC Spring, 1998: Sneaky Sneaky Germans, and sneaky sneaky Spanish.
01 Aug 14 UTC Autumn, 1998: Would you expect any less from the German army ;)
01 Aug 14 UTC Autumn, 1998: I was going to try and come through Belgium, but the geography is impossible . . .
02 Aug 14 UTC Autumn, 1998: I am going to be visiting my brother the next few days. I will check in and do my orders. But I may not be able to respomd to presses quickly.
04 Aug 14 UTC Autumn, 1999: Well today is my last day of holidays, so back to work tomorrow. Because of this I will not be able to respond to messages as quickly as I was when I was at home with nothing better to do. Leave a message after the beep, and I will get back to you!!
05 Aug 14 UTC Autumn, 1999: And now we're down from 10 to 4.
07 Aug 14 UTC I don't particularly want to fight allies in this, leaves a sour taste so willing to call it a draw from here if others are.
07 Aug 14 UTC Kind of amusing to see that Ukraine still controls Finland, Britain has Lapland, and Russia has Estonia.
07 Aug 14 UTC It is a sign of the Polish spirit of generosity. Turkey will be allowed a similar consideration in Syria, just as they have allowed Egypt that consideration in Sinai.
07 Aug 14 UTC Well seeing as my allies from the beginning want the draw, I will also accept. Good game all
07 Aug 14 UTC Good game all.
