01 Jul 14 UTC Spring, 1996: If the Russian player is out and France is ready should we not advance the round?
01 Jul 14 UTC Spring, 1996: There's no mechanism to force out a player. The game kicks them out when they miss an x amount of turns.
01 Jul 14 UTC Spring, 1996: Is there a mechanism to resign Russia can use if anyone can contact him/her?
01 Jul 14 UTC Spring, 1996: Well I don't see anything I could use to resign, so I have to assume the answer to that is no. What does x equal?
01 Jul 14 UTC Spring, 1996: Yes, no player can quit automatically.
01 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: *insert joke about Communist revolution here*
02 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: in soviet russia game is ready for you, not you ready for game
02 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: Everyone has saved moves but two haven't pressed ready so we can't advance. Can we please press ready when we are? :)
02 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: Generally if that is the case I am waiting for a player to confirm a move.
03 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: Declaration of Warre

There cometh a time when a great state must take the plunge into the unfathomable depths of danger in order to oppose forces inimical to its liberty and order. Time and time we have tried to reason with the Ukrainian state in order to build a stable and peaceful order in Eastern Europe, one that would guarantee the liberty of order of both our states. Time and time has Ukraine played false to such a plan for security. Let these transgressions be proof to this
i) It has conspired with the Russian State against our security and was the moral author of the ill-fated Russian aggression towards our dominions
ii) It has opposed our attempt to take just compensation for the losses inflicted on our subjects by the Russian aggression in Georgia.
iii) It has sought to profit from the dissolution of the Russian state at the expanse of the security of Eastern Europe.
But most important of all, the most egregious crime against peace
iv) It has assisted an aggressive and expansionist power in the guise of Italy to gain a foothold in the Balkans. Even our willingness to permit Ukraine to hold Serbia in order to avoid this eventuality, even our willingness to support them in taking Croatia did not shift them from this most criminal act.

Italy, which has opportunistically attacked and taken territory in every corner of Europe. Italy, which is engaged in a war of aggression in Western Europe, one which has sunk that great land into torrents of blood. Italy, which has denied Egypt its just expansion to Tunisia, leading that fair land to be under the crusader heel.

Therefore and considering the collusion between Ukraine and the expansionist Italian state, and the very real threat to the liberty and order of our imperium posed by this collusion, we the Emperor, Senate and People of Eastern Rome denounce Ukraine and Italy as threats to peace and prosperity in Europe and thereby call upon our subjects to wage warre on sea, air and land on these states until the threat they pose ceases. Let all of our subjects of all creeds raise their swords in this just warre. This holy warre! May all gods and all true hearts give victory to our arms!

03 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: :p
03 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: that shall be ascertained by the witchcraft trial :p
06 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: I hope we can get the retreating and building turns done in under 48 hours.
06 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: I am ready
08 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1998: Man I am hyped for the next turn! It may be a fizzle but it could be a blast!
08 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1998: The US will invade, conquering us all.
08 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1998: Hahahaha!
08 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1998: or the martians! :p

09 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1998: In response to the low-cunning of the German Chancellor, the British people call for revenge against the warmongers. Having tried and failed at diplomacy, the Cabinet has no choice but to order the Ministry of Defense to draw up plans for the imminent invasion of Germany.

There will be no negotiations. There will be no compromises. There will only be defeat for the perfidious rulers of Germany, who embarrass themselves by selling out German lands, honor, and reputation for unmentionable favors from outsiders. The British Navy will not rest until the Union Jack is flying high from the walls of Berlin.

In the name of the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, Ireland, and Scandinavia, the British government calls on all righteous countries to purge the illegitimate German government from the face of Europe.

God Save the Queen and Protect the British Navy
09 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1998: I just wanted to thank everyone for a good game. Best of luck to the rest of you.
09 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1998: By command of the Emperor Senate and People of Eastern Rome

The Empire is now in a state of war with the German state. Furthermore we declare our allegiance to the British crown and its allies.

It is most clear that two vast alliances have formed in Europe. One is based on perfidy, treason and subterfuge made of states blindly following the tune set by the Italian government. The other stands for Freedom, Peace and Security. This noble gathering includes Spain, the UK and out Eastern Roman Empire. We call on those nations still neutral to join the side of peace and security. We call on Poland and Ukraine to see where there true interests lie, forsworn their German and Italian handlers, who will betray them one day and join the side of Freedom and Security. To not do so will have dire consequences. Berlin shall burn! Rome shall burn! Should Warsaw and Kiev join them on the funeral pyre? We hope not!

By command of the Supreme War Council

10 Jul 14 UTC Spring, 1999: By Decision of the Supreme War Council

To all that it may interest. The State of Egypt and the Eastern Roman Empire are in a defensive alliance. No attack or aggression against Egypt will be tolerated, even if it is by allies.

10 Jul 14 UTC Spring, 1999: Dang, I forgot to move. They really need to have a reminder system on this thing. Sorry.
11 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1999: Does it really always take 24 hours to plan moves?
11 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1999: Well remember that a) people might be working b) time differences c) they might be waiting for a message to plan their move. So it could.
12 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1999: Overthinking moves is as bad as underthinking them.
15 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 2000: Not quite sure the purpose of having a turn for retreats for countries that no longer have bases and will have their retreating units immediately disbanded after this phase...
15 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 2000: Especially when that country missed last turn and may have ragequit.
15 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 2000: Novus Ordum Europaenis
15 Jul 14 UTC Spring, 2001: Well looks like there will be less time wasting soon.
17 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 2001: Starting new 10-player game, this time without anyone quitting a few turns in I hope. Password is homer.
17 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 2001: I'm happy to call this a coalition victory and call this a draw from there soon if everyone else is. Don't want to have to attack an ally.
17 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 2001: I am as well, I am bored with this now.
17 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 2001: I can see Spains point. On the other hand it is very very very rare for me to be in a position of winning in any game (75 defeats in warhammer 40k and 1 victorym, and 1 draw/ it took 5 years of playing Game of Thrones the Boardgame for me to win, and I have only won twice in those 5 years. 14 defeats in Saga, 2 victories in one year-> yes I am a gracious loser but whinny winner) and there is a part of me that would like to see if I can pull it off.

But in many ways the game is in a good point right now to end it. Italy did a marvelous job of giving us all a great war. Though an enemy, kudos to the Italian player for a great game.

I am game either way. I have the strategy in my mind for going to 33 and I know the Polish player also.
17 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 2001: Just as a note, we ended with a four player game in another game and these go either two ways

1) Quick resolution as one player gets overwhelmed and then stalemate

2) Stalemate

I was the player who got overwhelmed. I just sucked in that game and took one of my co-players down with my crappy advice.
17 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 2001: I don't see the purpose of winning a game that was not won through any skill but rather through a bunch of people quitting while still in a good position. I think we should draw after next turn.
17 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 2001: Next year that is.
17 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 2001: I think the English suggestion is the most fair, though I personally gain no benefit from the draw.
17 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 2001: Seconded.
17 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 2001: I have already voted for a draw. I won't quit playing my turns, but the sooner this is done the happier I will be.
17 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 2001: another option is for those who want to leave to leave, me and poland divide the world, and then fight to our hearts content :p
18 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 2001: Poland is bored and would really rather just end this.
18 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 2001: Ok :(
19 Jul 14 UTC Finally :)
19 Jul 14 UTC Hooray, no more :)
20 Jul 14 UTC Now joint the other game, bums. :)
20 Jul 14 UTC Congrats!
