24 May 25 UTC Sorry, my bad... Well played Egypt!
24 May 25 UTC Wooooo! gg everyone. A few post-mortem thoughts:

1. Would like to dedicate this to whoever never readied orders, you are a terrorist.

2. Turkey, long-time, no-see! Sorry for eating you right away, but I'm not sure I think Egypt has much other choice in gunboat but going at Turkey early. Africa only has two more centers, is easy to stalemate, and requires picking a fight with two other factions for little gains, and going Italy first requires fighting through a lot of empty sea before there's any prospect of gains, and requires full control of the eastern Mediterranean area, which antagonizes Turkey anyway.

3. Italy, sorry for the 'stab' when we had been coexisting for a bit. I was waffling over whether I needed to do it (and whether I could successfully do it regardless), but what pushed me over the edge was seeing you try to move into Istanbul. I think the only way we could have coexisted is if Italy had isolated itself to the Balkans and left me all of Anatolia and entry to the Black Sea area and started moving somewhere else. There was no way I could stand to see Italy moving into Anatolia or the Black Sea, so that cemented what I needed to do. My initial attack was about as well-timed and went about as well as it possibly could.

4. Poland, IMO I thought you needed to play a far more aggressive game than you did. There was way too much treading water in that eastern triangle conflict Poland has with Russia and Ukraine. Poland's usually regarded as a strong faction in this variant because it has an upper hand in that triangle--Ukraine has to worry about Turkey and Italy in the Balkans, and Russia starts all over the place with three fleets in three different bodies of water, whereas Poland can quickly be a sledgehammer of armies against one or both of them. That delay and caution when Russia and Ukraine had their hands full already is why there was no strong power in the East to resist me once I broke through.

5. Spain, well-timed pivot against me toward the end. It was hard to try to stealthily move into a place where you couldn't freeze me out of Iberia, and I failed to do so. Luckily for me I was able to keep progressing elsewhere, but you formed the wall just in time over there. Earlier in the game--this may have been right after you took over from old Spain--it was a tough decision whether or not to take Morocco when I had a clear shot at it and you proooobably would have been too busy to retaliate, but I like to think not taking that shot then was the right call for me (it helped me into Ligurian Sea with your support, at least).

6. Russia, thought you did a pretty nice job with a tough situation, even if it was inevitable. I was proud of my Volga move around 1998/1999 though, and I soon had far too many units over there for you to do anything at all about.
24 May 25 UTC Good game everyone. Special congrats to the Pharoh.
24 May 25 UTC Thanks Egypt. I remember when I took over in 1999, I considered Germany to be more of a threat. Whatever you did, it wasn't a mistake since it led to your win.
24 May 25 UTC Heyyy Egypt, at least I now know that I was beat by a long lost friend, congratulations on your victory. I had no chance with you and Ukraine going against me. My initial alliance with Russia also kinda was the wrong move as it really didn't do me any good.

Ultimately, I need more experience with gunboat. Its one of my first attempts. Jajaja
25 May 25 UTC Thanks to everybody, that was a great game.
I am sad, that I had to leave Ukraine alone against Egypt.
It was funny (though sometimes frustrating) to fight Poland.
26 May 25 UTC Poland, it's Pharaoh
26 May 25 UTC Also, sorry for giving up in Spring 2000, I was not thinking straight and probably directly contributed to the Egyptian win.
26 May 25 UTC Egypt, congrats. Just you you all know, I am actually Egyptian, so I am proud of the Egyptian.

Do any of you know who Mo Salah is? or his real name?
26 May 25 UTC I think it helped Germany more than me, but it definitely changed the game. As did Britain doing the same thing.
