07 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: You should probably cancel your travel plans, this game is kind of important
07 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: I mean, I'm traveling to an SC at least.
09 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: bets on evan's supply center travel plans: I'm going with Silesia
09 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: that's not a supply center, no wonder i'm losing
09 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: Even now is a bad time to go to Sevastopol
10 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1996: TIL you can build on any owned and open SC in this variant.
11 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1996: Also someone text Iris
11 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1996: That's a box you have to check
11 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1996: Irissssssssss
11 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1996: The One of Time, of Space the Three, Might in the Chain of Symbols girdled be
15 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1997: You'll never expect my next move
16 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1997: Looks like Egypt could stick around for a bit longer, really dug in well in Aswan.
16 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1997: As for Spain: A Basque separates. A Catalonia separates. A Seville tilts at windmills. F Barcelona siesta followed by clubbing.
17 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: Dammit missed a turn. Well that could have ended worse I guess but damn.
18 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: Oops. I was taking a final
18 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: so long folks. my final words: just because russia isn't involved doesn't mean that it isn't the juggernaut alliance
18 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: Wait a second...Turkey and I are working together? I don't think ANY of us guessed that one! Thanks for clearing that up. Your final contribution to this game has been exceptionally valuable.
18 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1997: that's not what i was saying, but alas, my people's voices have been silenced by our cruel ukrainian oppressors
20 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1998: Anyone talked to Duncan lately?
21 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1998: I saw him last weekend
21 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1998: Yo I'm going to be on a backpacking trip with no internet access starting tomorrow. I'm going to let myself miss this round, which I think will eliminate me from the game. Happy trails y'all
21 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1998: Any chance we could get a replacement for Italy or contact Duncan?
23 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1998: Sorry guys, I had an unfortunate confluence of events that left me without a single working computer (out of three possible) over the course of a few days. I totally forgot about the game in the chaos. I'm back now.

24 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1998: Ukraine defying current events and coming on strong, love it.
24 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1998: Also, France takes Morocco!

27 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1999: I wish people would stop leaving this game it could have been really interesting.
02 Apr 14 UTC Spring, 2000: RETREATS? I AM NOT ONE TO RETREAT
21 Apr 14 UTC Autumn, 2003: Okay team, how are we feeling? I highly doubt France will actually follow through with a 2-way draw or stab Germany, so we're just going to sit at 29-27-6 roughly indefinitely. I really don't like drawing with Germany (no offense) because I feel like he's still alive just because of France's support but if the game will be over, that's worth it. Unless someone sees this actually going somewhere, I don't really see another option than a 3-way draw.
21 Apr 14 UTC Autumn, 2003: Hey, if we do that, you all come out with a big old net gain, I come out with no net losses or net gains. Win-win.
21 Apr 14 UTC Autumn, 2003: Still a bit of wiggle room on the board but once the lines settle a draw should be a good result.
21 Apr 14 UTC Autumn, 2003: Enough wiggle room for you to think you can get a win?
21 Apr 14 UTC Autumn, 2003: No but I enjoy getting to a set position at the end, especially with an empty center just sitting there. Maybe you guys don't, that's fine.
23 Apr 14 UTC Autumn, 2003: I'm putting in my draw order. Evan can easily take 3 SCs from Germany this turn and have the win. I think a draw is appropriate.
23 Apr 14 UTC Autumn, 2003: 28 + 3 = 31 < 33
23 Apr 14 UTC rounding...to the nearest 10
23 Apr 14 UTC Okay but in all honest plus Saudi Arabia and Norway or Croatia you're golden. Just draw. You're being a brat about it.
23 Apr 14 UTC Sorry, that was mean. You do what you want to do.

24 Apr 14 UTC I think I've been an awfully good sport here considering I got screwed by John
24 Apr 14 UTC I've never had someone be this stubborn in any anonymous game ever, so the fact that I know who you are just makes this situation that much more frustrating
24 Apr 14 UTC lol
24 Apr 14 UTC (the sooner you put in orders, the sooner this will all be over)
24 Apr 14 UTC And yeah kudos to Germany considering he didn't bail unlike Egypt, Turkey, England, and to an extent Poland and Italy. Now he's going to survive to the end, which should be a lesson to all you people who CD'ed and made the game less fun.
24 Apr 14 UTC We are all online, now would be a good time to ready orders
24 Apr 14 UTC If you're in a hurry, that is. We're chill over here in France.
25 Apr 14 UTC I JUST READIED MY MOVES ON ACCIDENTF THIS
25 Apr 14 UTC I am so upset
25 Apr 14 UTC Can we redo this somehow
25 Apr 14 UTC Nah we're gonna call it a wrap now. I could pick up Belgium and Hamburg and Norway to get the win with an extra center to spare, but I do really appreciate you guys sticking this out with me in a game that could have easily been very disappointing. If I was being a bit of a tool about drawing, its just because I wanted to see if I could actually put myself in position to win, as a test of skill. I believe I've done that, but it's not the result that either of you deserve, both in the context of the game and as my friends.

On an entirely unrelated note, I will be in Madison for several weeks on either end of the coming summer, and would love to play in person Diplomacy — or more importantly, Sheepshead — with anyone who can tolerate my company.

For those of you who left this game early (or were knocked out by Ukraine or myself), it was fun while it lasted. I have erected large monuments to myself in your major cities, I hope you don't mind.

Good game. Vive la France.
27 May 14 UTC Vive la Poland.
