31 Aug 09 UTC Spring, 1901: Greetings to all fellow Dippers here! Does "Public Press" mean what I think it means? I.e., strictly no bilateral communication alloweds, but only here, on the Global bulletin board? If so, we should maybe migrate to the Forum, due to space reasons?
31 Aug 09 UTC Spring, 1901: Yes, it should be only Global Bulletin Board press!
31 Aug 09 UTC Spring, 1901: O.K., here goes - France to Germany: suggest NAP for min. first 5 years with Belgium to France and Holland to Germany?
31 Aug 09 UTC Spring, 1901: France to England - Offer neutrality with English Channel as DMZ?
31 Aug 09 UTC Spring, 1901: ....might even throw in No Fleets built at Brest for first 5 years, if you agree fully.
31 Aug 09 UTC Spring, 1901: Germany believes that a NAP with France would be good, but does not believe either country should enter Belgium in the first year. We suggest a planned bounce in Belgium. Neither country should be allowed 3 builds.
31 Aug 09 UTC Spring, 1901: Germany also suggests that France not enter Burgundy as a first move, in a gesture of good faith.
31 Aug 09 UTC Spring, 1901: First of all: Nice to see so many very good players gathered. This should be a great one!

As for DMZ for English Channel + 5yrs of No Fleets Builds in Brest , that is entirely OK, over here in London.

Now, I do not have any aspiration for Belgium. I am intending only to move for NWY, and play it from there.

Either way, I think BEL should be a French center. Perhaps even in 1901. But in that case I suggest that France "spare" an Iberian center for later. There are better uses for that third unit, than going for a SC.

I can also be quite precise about my planned spring moves:

I intend to build A LVP, for protection, but that is up for discussion.

Now I would like to hear something from the Russians! Hopefully, all that Vodka they are having, hasn't made them speechless.
31 Aug 09 UTC Spring, 1901: France to Germany/England:
Agreed no 3 New Builds in 1901; agreed Burgundy DMZ; agreed Belgium to France earliest 1902; Tally-Ho!!
31 Aug 09 UTC Spring, 1901: Austria requests a NAP with Germany. We both have plenty of countries to deal with. It would be in both of our best interests to not fight for the time being.
31 Aug 09 UTC Spring, 1901: Agreed.
31 Aug 09 UTC Spring, 1901: The great state of Russia expresses its desire for friendship from both the German and Austria territories, and is willing to agree to defending both in open warfare should they agree to defend Russia from it as well. Should warfare between Germany and Austria arises, Russia will uphold a pact of neutrality between the two states.

In regards to England and the issue of Norway, Russia believes that any landing of an army onto Norway is a serious threat to Russian security, as well as any movement in the Barents Sea from English fleets. England may land and hold the territory with a fleet, but if any of the conditions above are met than war will be declared.
31 Aug 09 UTC Spring, 1901: I find the Russian position rather intimidating. Talking of war?
Oh well, so be it...

I would ask Germany, to consider denying Russia the access to Sweden, thus enabling the easy german conquest of WAR.

Also, I ask Turkey to note the aggressive Russian position. An early aggression from Russia, is likely to lead to over-extension. An opening of MOS-STP is not unlikely. The effect of SMY-ARM, ANK-BLA, if Russia chooses to go north, might net quick gains.
31 Aug 09 UTC Spring, 1901: Yeah, my expressions of protecting my nation is intimidating yet you talk of landing at my doorstep and dictate how this game should be run.

Let me remind you I have no declared war yet, only expressing my concerns for my own safety and you are jumping all over it. We all know for a fact that making NAP with everyone else will not win this game, so war is expected. But a game driven by the English will result in France and Germany getting backstabbed while they move against Italy, Austria, and myself (notice how he didn't bother asking Austria for help?) and the English gaining the 18 SCs to end the game without Austria, Italy or Turkey having a say.

Quit asking them to do your dirty work England, and keep your fleets out of Barents and your armies out of Norway.
01 Sep 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: Turkey would like that the division of the Balkans is done in a peaceful manner, establishing peace and prosperity for the south-east region. What would Austria and Russia think is fair for all sides?
01 Sep 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: France to Germany - Just to make sure: We agreed to now bounce for Belgium, right?
01 Sep 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: Correct.
01 Sep 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: England, what aid would you give me, if I were to deny Russia Sweden, which would surely be interpreted as an act of aggression?
01 Sep 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: Russia, what considerations would I gain for ignoring the English suggestion, if any?
02 Sep 09 UTC Autumn, 1901: Germany, as I mentioned before a friendship with me would earn protection and the protection I can give you is greater than the english as they are not a mainland nation and are seriously limited in their abilities at the moment. With the English current moments and their neutrality with France they only options are myself and you. As mentioned before, allying with England will leave your back possibly exposed to both England and France should his long-term aims be ever exposed. However, on the other hand if you ally with myself then your back will be protected by myself and Austria and should any war begin between you and Austria than Russia will now be inclined to support war AGAINST the aggressor.
If you ignore the English, you back to the east will be protected, your claims in Holland, Denmark, and Belgium (should you wish to pursue it) will be supported by myself, and you will have my thanks.
