01 Jul 13 UTC haha. he probably left to go to the bathroom or something.
01 Jul 13 UTC i didnt expect that youd ready up, greece
01 Jul 13 UTC i gave the delay thing a try but now I want to see the final stab
01 Jul 13 UTC where would this stab be?
01 Jul 13 UTC we shall see
01 Jul 13 UTC wait, what? how did that work?
01 Jul 13 UTC we saw!
01 Jul 13 UTC ah, damn it. i was convinced you were going to stab me
01 Jul 13 UTC well, good game all
01 Jul 13 UTC damn I thought I thought of every place. better to lose to you and get close to 25 points though then to get 16 points in the three way.
01 Jul 13 UTC GG
01 Jul 13 UTC yep. good game, and well played, egypt
01 Jul 13 UTC i dont care. i was thinking you would win any way. and i kinda stabbed you but it did not work.
01 Jul 13 UTC just a question: would you have stabbed me?
01 Jul 13 UTC you said at the beginning you were unsure how the egypt - rome alliance would work. what do you think now? and gg
01 Jul 13 UTC i think its an excellent alliance to start, but not a great draw alliance
01 Jul 13 UTC i would not have. i move to sag b/c i thought you were going to get miletus and sinope and then you would have won, so i was preparing for the worst.
01 Jul 13 UTC though it may be skewed because carthage was so easy to take out
01 Jul 13 UTC yeah terrible draw alliance. to difficult to trust the other.
01 Jul 13 UTC i still like rome-greece the best, i think
01 Jul 13 UTC yeah, if carthage was better, then persia would have been in longer.
01 Jul 13 UTC FYI: this was only my second live and second Anc. Med. game. I thought I signed up for a regular live game! Well played and well-stabbed (towards me) to both of you.
01 Jul 13 UTC also, i stand by my assessment of chersonesus as the most crucial SC in this game, even if it didnt really come into play this time
01 Jul 13 UTC i always hate how rome and greece never want to attack each other at the beginning. it seems to predictable then. but yeah, that alliance is really easy to keep.
01 Jul 13 UTC so many games that ive seen have been won and lost over chers
01 Jul 13 UTC because its the greatest backdoor there is
01 Jul 13 UTC greece you deserved the draw earlier, i was too greedy.
01 Jul 13 UTC yeah, sorry for the stab, greece; i saw the opportunity and had to run with it
01 Jul 13 UTC cher is a great SC. connected to Sinope as well.
01 Jul 13 UTC I thought, retrospectively, that it must have been a ruse to open up the stab you made. Perhaps, you're setting me up for the next game. :)
01 Jul 13 UTC I tried attacking greece early as rome once and was destroyed by carthage. it almost makes you have to trust each other at the beginning. the inability to bring armies in early makes you have to bring fleets to each other.
01 Jul 13 UTC greece, i hope you enjoyed it. IMO, live games are much more fun. theres a lot more strategizing that happens in a live game, and the stabs are more immediate and unexpected
01 Jul 13 UTC i am still the better player here though according to my points :-)
01 Jul 13 UTC i like f2f better than online live though. i am more convincing f2f
01 Jul 13 UTC BTW: the extra points you got are obviously higher, but you're GR would have been better with a draw. Survivals seem to count as much as Defeats.
01 Jul 13 UTC nah, it was 100% legit. if persia gets chers, hes unstoppable
01 Jul 13 UTC GR?
01 Jul 13 UTC Yes, I did enjoy. I rarely get an hour+ to play though. Love the game.
01 Jul 13 UTC we would have got 16 points each if we drew. a draw splits the pot evenly between the remaining players. that is why if you are in second place, it is probably better to give the win away then draw.
01 Jul 13 UTC Ghost Rating. The position you hold in the overall standings. (Unless GR is something else. But I'm referring to the position calculation.)
01 Jul 13 UTC the position calculation is simply by points. right? I think draws are better overall than survivals dont get me wrong, i see it as a minor flaw with the site though that this happens.
01 Jul 13 UTC I get the points thing but your position rating is calculated differently and a draw counts much higher than a survival, which actually seems to be weighted the same as a loss.
01 Jul 13 UTC by the way rome, i was going to attack you in the last game. you were turkey and i was italy.
01 Jul 13 UTC i dont think that is how it works, my rating went up because i got more points.
01 Jul 13 UTC Perhaps I should have mentioned all that when the game was still going and we had time to kill. :)
01 Jul 13 UTC im going to go to bed. i am not sure about the rating thing. hope i get to play with you guys again sometime.
01 Jul 13 UTC That's different to my experience and a draw seems to boost more.
01 Jul 13 UTC Cheers!
01 Jul 13 UTC i figured you were planning that
01 Jul 13 UTC also, your position rating on webdip itself is based on points alone. the ghostrating is on a separate site
