Game won by Pantalone (51 D (S))
14 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1910: No just stay
14 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1910: OK.
14 May 13 UTC Spring, 1911: Germany to Italy: Could you explain why you are supporting hold a country that I, your ally, am fighting against....? After I grant you a unit you took off me (Vienna). My powers of understanding are severely stretched.......
14 May 13 UTC Spring, 1911: Because it makes the game more interesting? :-)

No, seriously, because you are significantly stronger than me, we can't cooperate on eliminating both Turkey and England. That would inevitably lead to your solo victory. I'm ready to discuss an end-game plan that would guarantee a draw.
14 May 13 UTC Spring, 1911: What move would you like Budapest to make? Support Trieste into Serbia, e.g.....?
14 May 13 UTC Spring, 1911: Albania to Serbia, if I can choose. Thank you.
15 May 13 UTC Spring, 1911: Done.
15 May 13 UTC Spring, 1911: You said you wanted to "discuss an end-game plan that would guarantee a draw". Please go ahead and start that discussion with you ideas..... :-))
15 May 13 UTC Spring, 1911: Well, the most simple idea is a 3-way draw with England. Although smaller than Turkey, he communicates and the draw can be arranged easily. Austria is a cool guy and I appreciate his sportsmanship, but I can't imagine how to include him in the draw.

Your ideas...?
15 May 13 UTC Spring, 1911: How to include Austria in the Draw, you ask? This turn, you can take Smyrna with Syria. Then, next move Smyrna can support hold Ankara! Et presto! Austria is "guaranteed" survival!!
15 May 13 UTC Spring, 1911: Yes, Austria can survive, but Austria can't control the balance between you and me, which is the most risky part of the draw.
15 May 13 UTC Spring, 1911: I don't want to make the Draw a massive event - 3 is already a crowd. Why include a fourth player also? Plus your choice, England, only came to this game late, trying to pick up left-overs from his disappeared predecessor. Plus he became cheeky when talked to and then turned into a proverbial monkey on my back, in fact he still is (Skagerrack). I have had to struggle him off slowly and painfully, without any help from my avowed ally, in fact with active obstructions from him (i.e. you)....so my mindframe is not too enthusiastic about giving him 25% of this game's pot......... :-((
15 May 13 UTC Spring, 1911: Working towards the Draw always means having a certain minimum amount of trust in your co-conspirators......:-))
15 May 13 UTC Spring, 1911: OK, what is your suggestion?
15 May 13 UTC Spring, 1911: seriously? o_O'
15 May 13 UTC Spring, 1911: 1.) I will take four more units (12+4=16) being the English ones.
2.) You will take seven more units (10+7=17) being all the Turkish ones....
After we achieve our objectives, towards which each of us commits to assist the other partner fully, we enter "hold" orders on all units, or "support hold" to own and/or each other's units...... :-))
15 May 13 UTC Spring, 1911: We would have to exchange some centres, because I can defend Vienna, for instance.
15 May 13 UTC Spring, 1911: Yes - Vienna against Budapest, for example.....
15 May 13 UTC Spring, 1911: More likely Budapest for Sevastopol. However there will be more such places -- e.g. you can't defend Paris. We would have to find really stable division of centres and an exact procedure how to achieve it. 3-way draw with England would be much easier.
16 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1911: Support yourself into Budapest now, please.
16 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1911: Vie - Bud sup by Tri......
16 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1911: See what you mean about Sevastopol.......bit difficult for you to take, isn't it....?
So if I take it instead, maybe you should take Paris......? All of this probably next year...
16 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1911: OK, I'm supporting Vienna to Budapest. More discussion after the turn.
16 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1911: Germany to Austria: Too bad about being knocked off your perch. Obviously the co-ordination between you and Italy waa not 100%..... Sad to see you go!
16 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1911: Germany to Italy: Your friendship with Engand has now obviousy ended. Clearly we now need to aim for 17 - 17 and we need to talk about who gakes what. Your new position on my North Western flank is something I obviously need to become accomodated to - also it is 100% unexpected, but never mind.......:-))
16 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1911: gakes = takes....
16 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1911: Germany, I'm ready to make any reasonable exchange, if you don't like my presence in England.
16 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1911: Bye Bye
17 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1911: Germany to Italy - We each need another 4 units. I suggest I take Edinburgh, Sevastopol, Rumania and either Budapest or Brest (your choice). You take the other 4 Turkish units.
I also insist you do not move your 3 Fleets in England and Brest. If you do, all bets are off (again...).....:-))

Hope & trust you will agree. If not, let me know your alternative ideas. I will listen closely......
17 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1911: I also suggest we keep Burgundy, English Channel and Tyrolia as DMZ. Any breaches of such an agreement, once made, would then mean - also - all deals are off the table and it will become a struggle to the death, i.e. a mutual effort towards that precious Solo.......
17 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1911: Germany, I agree with the division of centres, however I would later suggest more demilitarized areas around England and in France.
18 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1911: Glad to hear you agree with the centres split I suggested.
Based on that, I suggest for next Spring: Bud move to Serbia, with support - and I will move Vie to Bud.....
after that, I will move on Rum and Sev, whilst you roll up the rest of Turkey.....
18 May 13 UTC Spring, 1912: Germany, Budapest will move to Serbia, but hit Rumania by Galicia or Ukraine, please.
18 May 13 UTC Spring, 1912: Done! :-))
18 May 13 UTC Spring, 1912: p.s.: English Channel aiming for Portugal this Autumn....???
18 May 13 UTC Spring, 1912: Thanks.
Probably.
19 May 13 UTC Spring, 1912: Just move Brest to MAO. If he nips into Brest instead, we can kick him out again in the Autumn.....
19 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1912: Germany to Italy: Things look decidedly sunny now, with the final play well into motion. Next Spring we should be able to dot the final "i"'s and wrap up the 2-way Draw.....:-))
19 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1912: I hope so.
20 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1912: We all live in hope........
20 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1912: Haha. "Two-way draw", that's great.
21 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1912: "oh no!" (cit. lemmings) :)
it was a pleasure to play with all of you ;)
21 May 13 UTC Autumn, 1912: Turkey, please, disband Constantinople and Ankara. I'll help you to take Sevastopol and the game can still end as a 3-way draw.
21 May 13 UTC Spring, 1913: Nice try...... :-))
21 May 13 UTC Spring, 1913: Well, it's difficult to play the public press game, in which an important player doesn't communicate and cooperate at all. And you, Germany, made use of that very well. Congratulations!
21 May 13 UTC Spring, 1913: Thanks! Although it ain't totally over just yet, "until the Fat Lady sings" as they say.... But I did feel duty-bound to try for a Win, always.... But having no response at all from the "Yellow Guy" is a frustration indeed......
Let's see if we both make the best possible next moves......:-))
21 May 13 UTC No moves can change the result. I should start working with England much earlier.
22 May 13 UTC Hey, Marek! Chuffed......:-))
22 May 13 UTC Why not also join Palio 16.....:-))
22 May 13 UTC I am not very good in no press games. That's why I tried this one :-)
