11 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: GameMaster: Drifter555 has voted to unpause.
Voted: quang.lt,Drifter555,V+ Remaining: The General,numberzero,superchunk,brittgilmo.
11 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: I don't vote to unpause games in which a player has been caught cheating. It is unfair to everyone playing. I will and have already voted for a draw.
11 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: "I don't vote to unpause games in which a player has been caught cheating. It is unfair to everyone playing. I will and have already voted for a draw."

Quoted for accuracy, and my support. This mirrors my own feeling.
11 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: As long as we're quoting, I suppose we could do worse than to quote the official rulebook:

"It is probably best, if enough players are present, to allow someone else to replace a player who leaves the game. Players should decide what policies they will follow before starting the game."

Here's the url for the rulebook in case you want to see for yourself. It's on page 18.

11 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: I think a better place to quote, would be the house rules of PHPDiplomacy, which are "policies they will follow before starting the game"

Those policies being that a vote unanimous will decide, or arbitration.
11 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: I think players who are almost defeated in a game not allowing the game to go on is unfair. Anything about that in the rulebook?
11 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: "Those policies being that a vote unanimous will decide, or arbitration."

I declare myself arbitrator of this game and demand that you unpause! :)

11 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: It's just you three hanger ons left. Just admit to yourselves That you gain more from a draw than by playing the game out, since V+'s entry bid just sweetened it for all of us, and we all come out better than we came in.

Truly this is both the heart and spirit of the game diplomacy at its finest.

For we realize that war, for the purpous of nebolous and possible gains through agression against our fellow man, at the risk of our own destruction; the undoing of what we started with; is conter-productive and frankly, insane.

I would think that this is the lesson to be learned from The Great War.
11 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: I'm sure you would be saying the same thing if you had 10 SC's as opposed to one?
11 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: Germany, you drop the quote about deciding "policies they will follow before starting the game." Did y'all have some sort of caucus where you discussed those policies before beginning, hashing out all the rules you would follow for this particular game? If not, I assume y'all jsut decided to play by phpDip's standard rules which allow for CD coutries (no matter the reason for the CD) to be taken over and played by another.

I agree with you on one point, though. What you are trying to accomplish is "diplomacy at its finest." You are attempting to use rhetoric to persuade the other players to take you course of action. Bravo. Unfortunately, I'm not sure your position is tenable, as the you gained the upper hand through a pause.

I think we can sort this out pretty quickly, though. I'll just ask a mod what the best course of action is.
11 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: Hi, all. I just posted a thread in the Forum under the title "Need help from a Moderator...". Please feel free to state your case there.
11 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: Again, the "policies they will follow before starting the game", which you also refer to as "some sort of caucus where you discussed those policies before beginning" Are the house rules of phpDiplomacy.
11 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: Exactly, and there are no house rules concerning this situation. You're making them up to your advantage. Again, I applaud your moxy, but I don't agree.

That said, I'm willing to end the game, but not accept a draw. If a mod can get me out of this game with the points I use to buy in, I'll go on my merry way.
11 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: cmon people. let's just unpause and finish the game. There was no cheating in this game and those of us who are clearly losing, lost in a fair manner.

12 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: I'm a new player... don't really understand the purpose of a 7 way draw...
this whole pause is quite boring though.
12 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: just put "/unpause" in the global chat box brittgilmo please.
12 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: Don't listen to what anybody says and vote draw.
12 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1904: numberzero, If you care so much about keeping one SC which is like 10 points, then me and russia can just leave you to sit there untill the end of the game. you can be a neutral country! That way you have your 10 points and we get to play our game, everyone is happy right?
12 May 09 UTC Spring, 1905: Looks like we're on again. Good luck, everyone.
12 May 09 UTC Spring, 1905: Sure, let me keep Kiel! lol lol.
12 May 09 UTC Spring, 1905: I'll let you keep it. Everyone you heard me! He keeps Kiel! There, now you're good. :)
12 May 09 UTC Spring, 1905: too late, the game was unpaused before you accepted my offer. MUHAHAH
20 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1908: live to fight another day. :)

22 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: hey
22 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: wow that was a brilliant and well thought out purchase.
23 May 09 UTC Spring, 1910: what the hell happens?
Russia and Turkey are multiaccounts
23 May 09 UTC Spring, 1910: ???
23 May 09 UTC Spring, 1910: This is a false accusation, and I'm sure any moderator could confirm this. There is a difference between multiaccounts and working together, my friend. The game is called diplomacy for a reason - to foster making alliances.
26 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1910: I've seen strong alliances being accused of multi-accounts on numerous occasions. No, guys, sometimes random strangers really do decide to split the board. Yes, there usually is a stab, but sometimes not.

One sign of a true multi-account or RL collusion is by a complete DMZ where neither side defends their borders at all. Clearly that isn't the case here, so it must be two different individuals.
