08 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 2000: [Near-East]:no india, no oz, no kenya, no usa...wtf?
09 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2001: [South-Africa]:Cancel ... or continue?
09 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2001: [Ghana]:They all got players back in, so it's alright.
09 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2001: [Pacific-Russia]:Not for India though!
10 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2001: [Argentina]:Western Canada, India, oz, Kenya and now also Brasil... What's up!
I say Cancel, we can setup a new one!
10 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2001: [Pacific-Russia]:Agree
10 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2001: [Russia]:If put my votes in: draw and cancel, good either way for me. We can continue as well but it isn't really a level playing field.
10 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2001: [Argentina]:Ok, so draw and Cancel, sounds like a good one.
We could if everyone agrees, setup a new game straight away!
10 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2001: [Ghana]:Aw :(
10 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2001: [Near-East]:I hate to be the voice of experience here boys, but this is what world dip is like. ALL world dip games have players who go cd, it's just an unfortunate part of the game.
So theres no point cancelling or drawing to restart, we'll just have to play through and rely on our skill to find our way into a draw.

The other point is that in order to draw or cancel, you need EVERY active player to vote, which almost never happens (unless there are only a few players left).

So, this game will continue regardless of who cds.
Sucks, but there it is.
10 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2001: [Russia]:Eehh, are you the same guy that was so very surprised at the start of the game :-)
10 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2001: [Near-East]:not so much surprised as pissed off - usually you'll have 2-3 cds, but in this game we've had what, 4? 5?

my surprise is more aimed at how easy antarctica has it ;-)
10 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2001: [Frozen-Antarctica]:Not very easy considering i need two for every center
10 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2001: [Russia]:That is indeed something different from the rest of us.
10 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2001: [Argentina]:Haha... Seems like game-on!
26 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 2003: [Near-East]:just got this from oz :

[Oz]:I came into a losing game to speed it up for a friend, and I'm going to be eaten by the Antarctic. So if I can annoy someone else, I'm going to take the chance.

this seems like the textbook definition of meta-gaming, which is a "bannable" offense

thoughts? am i off base here?
26 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 2003: [Russia]:You are probably right. Speeding things up is ok for me, but annoying others not, really.
26 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 2003: [Libya]:I think who his friend is would determine whether this is metagaming. For instance, if it was China, S. Africa, myself, or anyone else who would have an interest in delaying your expansion, then the case would be made that his moves against you are indeed metagaming. If your complaint includes joining simply because a friend asked him to speed up a game, then, while being slightly unreasonable (any player is better than no player in my opinion), you could also argue metagaming
26 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 2003: [Near-East]:i'm not so much worried about the joining to speed the game along as the whole "i know FA in real life so i'm going to kill myself attacking other players" routine

not that i think oz should be banned, its more just a clarification of what metagaming is and if anyone cares about that stuff on this app
26 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 2003: [Argentina]:Who is the friend.... If OZ does a unlogical move to benefit his friend... Then yeah unfair! If he is just working the oz continet so we still have a game an someone sets to ready... Then it's ok.
26 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 2003: [Frozen-Antarctica]:MFW, who cares!? He has got one unit!!! If it was a large force I would be interested if someone was meta-gaming, but he literally has one fleet...
27 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 2003: [Near-East]:mfw?...
my fucking word???

never underestimate the power of one unit in the right place....
27 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 2003: [Libya]:It's a matter of principals. That's all.
27 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 2003: [Frozen-Antarctica]:My face when = mfw
27 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 2003: [Frozen-Antarctica]:And only the chezck can win with one unit.
27 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 2003: [Near-East]:I've done it before
I was playing turkey in a 1400 point wta game, down to just constantinople

won it all

so clearly we should watch for the oz solo ;-)
27 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 2003: [Frozen-Antarctica]:ahh yes, clearly that translates to his success. HAHA!
27 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2004: [Russia]:I have had another look at his most recent moves and if FA is his friend than it is meta-gaming.
27 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2004: [Ghana]:Oh hey, I invited him to join this game, mostly to just fill up the spot and keep the game going because people left, not for any particular malevolent reasons
27 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 2004: [Argentina]:Cool, thanks for tying to save the game! Good in my book.
30 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 2004: [Ghana]:oh well, we're both dead now anyway
05 Dec 12 UTC Autumn, 2005: [Frozen-Antarctica]:We should draw
07 Dec 12 UTC Autumn, 2005: [USA]:I agree
21 Jan 13 UTC Spring, 2013: [Near-East]:I'm sending lanzhou to shanghai, you guys handle korea
sound good?
22 Jan 13 UTC Spring, 2013: [Argentina]:check
24 Jan 13 UTC Autumn, 2013: [Argentina]:HAHA just kidding, wanted to do this half way around the world convoy for a while now.... Does not look as spectacular as I thought!
24 Jan 13 UTC Autumn, 2013: [Russia]:Ehhh, looks like a fine experiment and i imagine the experiment would not be succesfull if the convoy would been to one of your own countries.
24 Jan 13 UTC [Near-East]:OK boys, just the 3 of us; looks like draw time.
Well played all around!
25 Jan 13 UTC [Russia]:Same to you! Thanks for a fine game!
25 Jan 13 UTC [Argentina]:You got it! See you in the future when we will battle till the end ;)
