14 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1907: Oh, and England, my super weapon is an amazing talent for issuing the right orders at the right time.
14 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1907: So then I suppose we must play this until Russia stabs you out of frustration?

I hope you aren't going to wait in hopes of another NMR.
14 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1907: Austria, lets say I (once Tyrr has to retreat) order West Med support Tunis, and Spain and Marseilles support Gulf, every single turn?

Do you have a plan that involves disobeying physics and ignoring the basic rules of Diplomacy? I certainly hope so, or we are going to be here a very long time.

If you agreed to fight Russia though, we could end the game without forcing you to draw. What about that?
15 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1907: I will not invade Russia until he gives me permission, which he has said he will do if he starts losing int he north.

I will not draw. Ever.
15 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1907: If Russia lets you take his centers so you win, you will officially be on my shit list of players. Not that you will actually care, but maybe you should learn how to play this game in a more mature way,
15 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1907: the free republic of Syria proclaims austria a poo-poo head
15 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1907: Like, honestly guy. If you made a decent deal with wooo and acted on it, I'm sure he'd attack me in a heartbeat, as long as you and the Russian fighting was a given. If you are not willing to do that, suck it up and draw.

MajorFopa (love the name btw, just love it), in my previous experiences with you, you have been both mature and reasonable. Do not change that experience.
15 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1907: This is not immaturity. It is a choice about a style in which to play the game. There are now draws in war. There are winners, and there are losers. I intend to be one of those.

As for my refusal to stab Russia, I try to play the game in an honorable way. And that is part of it.

And Woooo... having a "shitlist" is meta gaming and is bannable. I'd recommend AGAINST mentioning publicly that you have one.
15 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1907: rlumley.... having a shitlist, and mildly metagaming is not bannable. It never has been, and if you didn't read the pertinent thread, all of the mods have come out and said it. wooooo is perfectly in his rights to blacklist you, and refuse to play with you and such, even if such behaviour is frowned upon.

I suppose I respect your decision not to pause, but what if you ARE in an intractable situation, where the ONLY option that will do anything is to either draw ro stab your partner? Because I do believe you will face that choice soon, no matter what you blather about 'moving at the right time' and such.

Lets be reasonable guys, and have no more talk of shitlists and banning.
15 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1907: "Lets be reasonable guys, and have no more talk of shitlists and banning."

Good luck. You'll need it. =D
15 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1907: Hi Guys... sorry I missed this interesting conversation last night. I live in the Boston, MA area and the sports teams have been amazing (not last night). I have been spending much time flipping channels watching 2 -3 games at once.

Back to this game. I will vote for a draw when I think we are at a stalemate. I currently do not think we are there yet, so I would like to continue a bit longer. I don't think this is unreasonable or immature. I am not a big fan of the Draw, but will do it if needed.

Let's try to keep the game communication competitive but fun, and not let it degrade too far.

So for now... let's press on. See you on the battlefront.
15 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1907: Syria... I am coming after you!
16 May 09 UTC Spring, 1908: You realize the stalemate is up right? I didn't even need to enter moves. You can't do anything in the North since you have no fleets.
16 May 09 UTC Spring, 1908: then why is russia taking st pete?
16 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1908: Does it matter? The amount of SC he has is irrelevent. He can't buid fleets. And don't forget that I have 4 units to his 2 on St. Pete, so guess who is taking it right back. This time, his last fleet wil be disbanded as well (last fleet in the North that is). I can even ready my moves out loud!
16 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1908: Figures the one player I was banking on NOT issuing orders, issued orders... :-(
16 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1908: lol
16 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1908: Germany has the most incentive to issue orders. He is getting the most out of the draw.
16 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1908: the free republic of syria calls for a draw
16 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1908: As the Head of State of the nation which has seen the most death and devastation of all in Europe, the Kaiser calls upon the leaders of all the other remaining nations to meet in Switzerland for peace talks. The present hostilities benefit no one, as neither side can gain a clear advantage over the other at this point without betraying an ally; and such betrayal would certainly mean doom for the betrayer. The Kaiser calls for an end to the senseless violence.
16 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1908: /draw
16 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1908: GameMaster: Tolstoy has voted for a draw.
Voted: wooooo,Friendly Sword,Tolstoy Remaining: rlumley,MajorFopa.
18 May 09 UTC Spring, 1909: This game has been a series of how many times can rlumley mis-issue orders...
18 May 09 UTC Spring, 1909: Indeed. Not that it matters. Come one guys, the writing is on the wall. Once Austria takes Tyrrhenian, nothing else will move. Its too rsiky for woooo to eliminate Germany, and neither of the two alliances is going to fall apart.

You say you don't draw prematurely MajorFopa; thats fine, I respect that. But in one or two more turns, I don't see how anyone could say that this game isn't for all intents and purposes a draw.

Oh, and a strategy of waiting for an NMR is risky at best, for you must remember that that sort of thing can go both ways...
18 May 09 UTC Spring, 1909: You mean a series of how long can rlumley waste our time?
18 May 09 UTC Spring, 1909: Also, if you don't draw by the end of next year, once it is clear you can't win, I will contact a moderator.
18 May 09 UTC Spring, 1909: Hahaha... A moderator would do nothing... It's perfectly legal for me to refuse to draw.
18 May 09 UTC Spring, 1909: Ok, Sword-man. Now you need to prove that this is a stalemate in the Med. If it is, we will draw, but if you can not stop Austria, then we keep playing.
Stick with it guys. When it is over, we will lay down our arms.
En Garde!
19 May 09 UTC Spring, 1909: hmm, know they are actually right wooo. Send down a fleet. It is not a 100% stalemate yet unfortunately.
19 May 09 UTC Spring, 1909: ^^^ What he said.
21 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: Silly geese. You should have moved to Tuscany from Rome.

I'm going to show you that I don't even need wooo in North Africa. (Though I don't mind the support)
21 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: Oh, and can either of you explain to me why this isn't a draw? Sorry if I'm a bit anxious, but I want to have enough points for the next league game, and I see little reason why you would want to prolong this game.
21 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: The free republic of Syria wishes only for peace
21 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: Oh go make some Hummus in Damascus, Sicarius! Give us some peace!
21 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: Shall I explain this to you? Next turn, Western Med supports Tunis and Spain supports Gulf.
Austriaw il most likely shift Rome to Tuscany. I wll move Mid ATL- North Africa.

After that, North Africa supports Tunis. Western Med and Spain support Gulf of Lyon. Tada. Stalemate! Is it that hard to believe?
And for everyone's information, I am not attacking Germany. He will take part in this draw.
21 May 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: And even if wooooo somehow NMRs again. Grrrr. :) it will still be a stalemate.

Marseilles will also support Gulf, eliminating the potential success of Pie->Gulf.

Thanks for killing my army to let me build a fleet by the way, rlumers.
21 May 09 UTC Yes... but when YOU nmr again France...
21 May 09 UTC Well. This is a draw now.

Turn on Germany and we'll actually draw.

Don't turn on Germany and... well. We'll be playing for awhile.
21 May 09 UTC Draw the game. Mods can make you do it. Why be obnoxious? The only people that should turn on anyone are you and Russia, who have held this game up for long enough. Friendlysword needs points for his league game, and this game is stalemated. Just draw.
21 May 09 UTC But he'd have more point if you all killed Germany first...
21 May 09 UTC He'd also have more points if Russia stabbed you - which he's in a perfect position to do - and they all settled on a three-way draw.
21 May 09 UTC Don't care about points.
21 May 09 UTC Once this year is over, if there is no draw, A mod will be contacted. Whether or not he force draws the game will be his choice.
21 May 09 UTC I am in favor of a Draw now. I propose we comlete this game.

Good game everyone. Hard fought all around. My only regret is not taking Syria.
21 May 09 UTC /draw
21 May 09 UTC GameMaster: MajorFopa has voted for a draw.
Voted: wooooo,Friendly Sword,Tolstoy,MajorFopa Remaining: rlumley.
21 May 09 UTC I do not care about points. All I need is ten (so seven more) of which I will have in excess once you stop fooling around rlum. A draw is a draw, and it doesn't affect your stats or points whther or not Germany is alive. There will be no stabbing.

Oh, and yes, good game everyone. Despite your annoyances, you played a good game rlumley. Tolstoy, wooo, despite all of our repeated nmring, we still beat back the outnumbering super-eastern-alliance. And still remained mostly intact. Three cheers!

And MajorFopa, it was pleasure to play and converse with you this game. Hopefully we can play again in a game where we will have more to agree on :)
21 May 09 UTC Over my STRENUOUS objections, Russia has gotten me to agree to a draw.
21 May 09 UTC /draw
