I don't really do EOGs as I do have the recall some players do. But here is the game link should one or more of them wish to bitch about the game.

Two Questions about the Forum that I couldn't find in the help
1) If you mute a thread, is there any way to unmute it?
2) At what point do your posts and Threads move to the link that you can click on from your profile? They seem to be several weeks old. Is it a page count thing? or a timing thing?

Presidential amnesty
Our beloved universal genius, Master of the Universe and president of the Czech Republic, Tunnelgramps Václav Klaus recently ordered an amnesty for 1/3 of all prisoners to celebrate 20 years since the dissolution of Czechoslovakia he so masterfully orchestrated. Another 500 pardons are in the pipes as well, gotta help the pals out before his time in the office runs out.

Anyways, I think any modern democracy should be able abolish such feudal relict, which puts the president above the law of his country. The court system already has tools to shorten the punishment in exceptional cases. I know the Yanks had their fair share of amnesties as well (and I don't mean librar amnesties or gun amnesty in Iraq) so I'm eager to be flooded with carefully crafted opinions on the subject.

What especially sucks is the TV coverage which follows the reunion of those released with their families as if they were released from Burmese prison where they were sentenced for espionage or some shit. Those people committed crimes that are now wiped out from their criminal records. They did nothing to achieve that apart from being in the prison at the right time. Guidos from Jersey Shore deserve more coverage than them.

Although it's funny to hear stories of guys, who needed only 7 hours to return behind the bars again.

Maybe some guys got used to prison life and didn't like the outside, maybe it wasn't even safe for them...

They went to the nearest sportbar and spend all the taxpayer money they got for a ticket back home and corresponding expenses on scotch.and beer. Then they decided to steal a car, failed, came back to the bar and stole money from the cash register. Unluckily for them, another patron saw them doing it. Even more unluckily, he was released from the same prison so he knew who they were :)

It amazes me that Havel & Klaus are regarded as anything but buffoons.
I always wondered what happened to Man-At-Arms, Teela, Orko, and the other Masters of the Universe. Rotting in a Czech prison, who knew?

From all the amnestys these liberal heroes implement it's a wonder that Czechia has any prisons at all.

Well, most of those released by amnesty come back pretty quick so our prisons will be k. This time, some were released on like 1 day notice - they woke up with no life plans for the next few years and were told to take care of themselves from 11 pm onwards. Comparable to being suddenly kicked out by a landlord without any stuff, pretty rough.

And THM, you're thinking way too small. Klaus would teebag He-Man without even breaking a sweat. We're talking big time Masters of the Universe. Chuck Norris, Kim Jong-Il, Vladimir Putin, that level of badassery.

"Then they decided to steal a car, failed, came back to the bar and stole money from the cash register."

That's nothing. Our Governator here in California pardoned a man (only a handful of years into his sentence) who murdered a random stranger after being refused entry to a party a couple years ago because Ahnold was best buds with the perpetrator's dad (a California state legislator).

The sciences
A recent post by dubmdell on the beauty of science struck me as being rather eloquent. It paused me to stop and think what the relative proportion of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) students were across our various countries. In the UK in 2010, for example, there were 12,000 psychology and 10,000 history graduates. Chemistry and physics had 2,400 and 2,200 respectively.

Republicans defend the rich
I am from Europe, so I don't know much about American politics. I always thought that the GOP is for the hard working people. But it seems more and more that they just defend the rich. Sounds stupid to me, is a rather sure way to loose votes.

Trigger Laws
These are laws which do nothing unless certain conditions are first met.

So some (US) states will automatically ban abortion if Roe V Wade is overturned; or automatically ban human cloning if it becomes possible to achieve; however i really like the following rule: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Popular_Vote_Interstate_Compact

The Greatest (Love) Story Ever Told?
It's not "Romeo and Juliet"...surely we all agree?
It's not "La Boheme," however much I love that opera.
It's not "Les Miserables" (at least not the musical/film version, two lines and BAM! instant, undying love between Marius and Cosette...lol!)
So...what is it--triumphant, comedic or tragic, as we approach the romance of New Years', what IS The Greatest Love Story Ever Told?

Autumn 19XX Retreats
If a player earns their 18th center, the game ends. The game does not progress into the retreats phase; it simply ends. If someone can retreat into a center of the winning player, the game will still end. I understand that once you hit 18 centers the game is over, but my belief is that retreats are a part of the season in which they follow. If they are, shouldn't they go through, even if the player has gotten 18 centers?
