How exactly does the CD/resign/left thing work?
From playing a bunch of live games here is how I *think* it works. Could people correct and/or clarify my myriad of assumptions listed below.

gameID=86646

Congratulations to Chanakya. But Bob, what happened in the last move there? I had Munich covered, Bur could have saved Mar, and Portugal was not in danger? I don't understand. We were just one turn away from drawing.

Yeah. Bob just threw it away. I have no idea why.

Well fought Sargy, you earned yourself a spot in the draw. Too bad it didn't happen.

Thanks Vaftrudner, I still couldn't understand the move of Bob...But yes Germany played really well.

I didn't have a clue what was going on in that game.

Vaft, your strategy made no sense to me. Your 1901 builds were odd. Then you swung to attack France but kept wanting to take North Sea. Strange.

France, you seemed very bitter. I left Belgium open for you many times and you ignored it. You then dived into Munich pointlessly - you held it for one turn and were forced out. Why you carried on attacking me when you were building heaps of armies and sending your only remaining fleet to wage a one unit war against Italy, I have no idea.

Serious problem with people deciding how many enemies they needed in that game.

I'm glad Italy won.

Message from Bob to me:
"I was trying to set up the stalemate line in Iberia. I'd have done it earlier if England had gotten a fleet down there one turn sooner. It was a 50-50 on whether Munich or Marseilles would be the locus of his attack that I needed to support against from Burgundy. I guessed wrong."

Bob, I figured I'd answer you here - because this can be a lesson to everyone. Munich had English armies in Ruhr and Kiel supporting it. It did not need Burgundy's support. All Burgundy needed to do was support hold Marseilles and the game was over.
I'm really not sure what line in Iberia you mean - you already had the stalemate line.

I think there needs to be a permanent link at the top of webdip for information on stalemate lines - it's so straightforward but so many people get it entirely wrong.

Chanakya, where are you from?
Vaftrudner (2533 D)

Sarg, I wanted Nth to protect myself. A fleet in Nth did not threaten you in any way, you were well protected in both Hol and Den. I thought my supports at the same time as my move to Nth would show that it was not a hostile move. I also wanted you to take Bel to be able to attack France - that's why I convoyed out of there in the first place.

Why did you move to Nth? Because to me, that is clearly a hostile move from Germany. That's when I decided to pick up Brest to compensate for any losses but after that, I'd move away completely from the attack on France.
Yeah, I fucked up. My bad. I played a shitty game. I've been playing many shitty games lately; I think I'm going to take a break.

I know you were trying to draw me in on a battle with England, but I didn't figure I'd get many spoils out of that successful war if I'd jumped in, basically only the low countries at max, given my game long naval weakness, especially with Italy factored into the equation. Then, when you took Munich back, I could see that Italy was going to kill Turkey and the only hope I had was keeping him out of Iberia and Marseilles. Which, again, I fucked up.

Don't be too hard on yourself Bob. Everyone has games they could have done something better.
Vaftrudner (2533 D)
19 Apr 12 UTC
Don't let it get you down Bob, I'm not mad at you. Mistakes happen. God knows I fucked up a lot in that game, I didn't manage to communicate at all with Germany. Perhaps I should have called off the attack on him earlier too, and concentrated only on stopping Italy. But get back up in the saddle :)

Chanakya,

I just overviewd the game. Congratulations. kicking the ass of these guys, while having 5 D left is really something :) especially when you do it with italy.

I'm impressed, keep on the good work, I hope we will see you in many many more games.

while having 5 left is really something? I am not clear on this text what did you mean?
rokakoma (19138 D)
19 Apr 12 UTC
You had only 5 D left on your balance when you were playing? Didn't you? you won 280 D, and you've had 285 D when I wrote that comment. So I assumed during the game you were basically out of "money"
Chanakya. (703 D)
19 Apr 12 UTC
Oh, no..I had 25 D while playing. and 120 D total. I have 360 D in total after win and 305 D currently,,

But yeah I am very much happy that I may join some games with you pros with larger bets like 101 (I found some live games with 101 D but only wished to join)

I play for Fun and some learnings. So, Points and stats are just means of motivation for me...
rokakoma (19138 D)
19 Apr 12 UTC
I'm still learning a lot, games above 2000 D pot size have completely different dynamics. I'm still surprised sometimes how differently those are played. So fun and learning is good, but you need points to learn even more. It's a bad necessity, but it's necessary. So keep collecting those points, not becuase they have value, but because they give you the chance to improve further.

I swear, every time I'm Turkey or England, people don't show up and screw thegame. If I'm Austria, though, everybody's there with bells on and eager to move to Trieste and Galicia right away.

Marxism
Marxism is fundamentally a theory of history which should entail a commitment to social change; that is, a commitment to a socialist future in which the forces of production are not owned privately as they are in capitalist societies but under common ownership.

Chelski playing Barca
And Drogzilla scores. I effing hate Chelski, but I have nothing but admiration for Drogba. It helps that they're playing Barca, who I fucking detest since their several year long campaign to stoke Fabregas' discontent. Seriously, fuck them.
