How NOT to play Austria: gameID=80640

I'll disagree with anyone that wants to move their English army to Clyde. I've found that there's a large decrease in overall success when English players do *not* convoy the army (or at least successfully enter orders to convoy--they could get bounced in their destination, after all).

When England doesn't convoy the army, there's a decline in draw percentage of over 60% and a small measure of a decrease in wins as well. There's also a huge increase in elimination (over 50%) when the army isn't convoyed.

@Tru - England doesn't necessarily lose the ability to convoy the army, though. Its options are reduced because it must convoy via NWS and thus to Norway, but assuming Russia doesn't open to St. Petersburg then that option is still going to get the army on the continent.

I've actually used Sev-Arm as a successful ploy to get my fleet into the Black Sea. It depends upon Turkey going "Oh, fuck, I better bounce Russia in Ankara." Granted, I wouldn't do it again, as I got destroyed by an EG that game.

@PE-touche. That tricky English Island gets me every time. I suppose it will simply stand as a pointless move in 1901. The stats remain the same though :)

Haha. I remember that game. Eden was bitching so much and thought 2WL and myself talked Austria into going to Munich.

Austria did that all on his own accord, as 2WL and myself kept trying to fuck the other. Naturally, he did nothing we suggested because he couldn't trust either of us, haha

O yeah, and anybody that sends F Kiel to Berlin needs to be shot in the head.

You'd have to be pretty dumb to open Kiel to Berlin.

Worst game ever: Germany opens KIE-BER and Russia opens STP(sc)-LIV. :D

More or less useless than a bounce in A 1901 in Baltic Sea? :D I mean, if your plan as Germany or Russia is to allow for a full English colonization of Scandinavia, then by all means.

Once when I was playing Russia I moved from the office to the living room, I still lost, I wouldn't advise that move.
I once saw London and Edinburgh bounce in Yorkshire.......what was that all about ??
