So R8G2 just started up, and R7G1 will hopefully be starting in the next day as well. I know there are some of you who haven't had a new Masters game since I took over, and I sincerely apologize for the delay. It has been far too long and I've been too complacent. However, if my records are correct, there are only 6 games left to start: R7G4, R7G6, R8G3, R8G4, R8G6, R8G7

So if you haven't been in a game yet, just hold on a bit longer, I'm working on the last 6.

What are these masters games?

The Masters is a Tournament, I think originally started by TheMasterGamer that is a 49 person tournament. everyone plays everyone once. Everyone plays every country once. TrustMe was running it last year, but then around August/September he just disappeared. I picked it up in November, built up the spreadsheet, and have been running it rather mediocrely ever since.

I doubt that this tournament will continue for much longer after this. Many of the higher ranked players have been complaining about it

Tournaments can and should be the best part about this site, it is too bad that so many seem to have trouble getting off the ground. I don't understand why more people are not interested.

I'm not interested because of the time commitment. When I inquired, I was told that they take the better part of a year, by the time you play everyone. (Or maybe I was thinking of the World Cup.)

In any case, I agree with Lando that tournaments can be the best part about the site, but that's my excuse for not signing up. I just get in on the GR challenge games that come up from time to time. A 1-game commitment I can handle.

I can understand that, MKECharlie. This is an 8 game tournament, and since they start (or were supposed to) every 2 to 3 weeks it takes 4-6 months just to start all the games in the tournament, and ideally about 8 months to complete.

Can a mod force me CD?

to be honest i'd like a force-cd on all the games i'm currently playing. but if not that, at least this one gameID=81266&msgCountryID=0
i just signed up to take over, but i'm an idiot i thought it was a live game for some reason. so that was an oversight on my part.
even if i were still signing up for non-live games they are not even speaking english there. can i get a cd?

Finding out the identity of Players who "Leave" and are then replaced

Having just finished an Anon game, we had a player who "Left". A new player then joins. A number of questions arise:
1. Is GR calculated on the original player or the new player. Must be the original player, otherwise this a way to manage the rankings.
2. But if this information is readily available, is there any way to find out who the original player was?

bolshoi

after someone posted a message using my name as a noun, i decided to see what bolshoi means in english. unfortunately through google and wikipedia i learned that bolshoi in english typically means an opera, ballet, drama theatre and an 80's group from london. does this information raise concerns about my sexuality. and if so should i create a new account?
