(Oh...and the rest of the NFL Playoff Picture...yeah, let's discuss, as it's getting pretty interesting in both conferences...but I know one thing about the playoff picture for sure:
MY TEAM IS OFFICIALLY IN! ...So are the Packers, but hey...Packers/49ers, those have made for some great playoff matchups before, right?)
Lions are actually looking pretty good at getting a shot. Falcons and Bears both had games they should have won today and dropped them, and it looks like the Giants will in fact lose if they haven't by the time I finish posting. The Lions will likely lose too, but that keeps them neck and neck with the Falcons and Bears and they have the easiest schedule.
Lions: At New Orleans Minnesota at Oakland San Diego at Green Bay
That Packers game could very easily come with resting starters.
Falcons: at Carolina Jacksonville at New Orleans Tampa Bay
Only slightly harder schedule than Detroit, since Carolina and Tampa have occasional spark unlike Minny, Oakland in the Palmer era, and whatever the hell is going on in San Diego.
Bears: at Denver Seattle at Green Bay at Minnesota
I wouldn't want to face Denver, Seattle, or the Packers at this point. With half the offense hurt.
Giants: at Dallas Washington at NY Jets Dallas
3/4 games against likely playoff teams and starting a game back.
All I know is the glory that is Green Bay! Wahoo! Congrats to Obiwan on the 49ers -- looks like they'll be a strong playoff team. Hard to see a conference game that isn't GB vs. Saints/49ers. Detroit will fall off dramatically down the stretch, but might have caught a break with the Bears' injury woes. Giants will sweep the Cowboys and win the division still. Could be a playoff sleeper.
I'm thinking the NFC Wild Cards now are Lions and Falcons, with Giants winning the NFC East. AFC Wild Cards of Steelers and Titans, with Broncos winning the AFC West.
Odds makers give the Bengals a 1 in 3 playoff chance even after today's loss to the Steelers. Considering where they were last year, this is a *massive* improvement. And it's all thanks to Carson Palmer. Thank you, Carson, for going away and taking your crappy QBing with you!
Can I just have a moment of silence for the Giants and what is perhaps the worst 2nd half schedule the NFL has ever devised? I mean, Patriots, 49'ers, Saints, Packers, Jets, Cowboys twice, and then the Eagles and Skins. Yes the Eagles game we should have won, but come on.
Also, I am extremely proud of the Giants despite their loss. They took that Packers to the brink (and if it wasn't for Manning's pick-6 would have beaten them) and got some good pressure on Rodgers (in the 3rd quarter at least). Also, 3 Packers were sent away on stretchers, including their best defensive player. That's our gift to the remaining teams who the Packers have to play. I hope the Packers don't taste perfection.
Has anyone played this variant? How does it impact the game, overall? I can imagine the short-term consequences for France, Germany, and Italy. I'm more asking about the indirect consequences for E,R,A,T, and if there are statistics on how that affects the winner. Thanks in advance!
I am writing a paper for a class and I was wondering if anyone can help me with the difference of what it means to be Ukrainian versus Russian. Obviously there is a language difference, but what about the ethnic differences? What precedent does Ukraine have to exist autonomously from Russia? Thanks for your help.
I don't think the mute button is working properly. Or rather, the unmute button. I accidentally muted a thread (Yellowjacket's about PPSC and Austria) and I went to my settings and found where it said that I had muted it, and selected to unmute it. I still cannot see the thread and no longer have the unmute option. Is this happening to anyone else?

Does the rule hold if one attack on a province is stronger than the other provided the stronger attack is conducted by the same country as beleaguered garrison in question? Sort of a Beleaguered Garrison rule working while simultaneously overruled by No Self Dislodgment rule?
