How to contact a mod
I am wondering how you contact a mod for an issue within a game. Our game was paused by the Webdiplomacy system and we have 2 NMRs that won't be able to vote unpause. I assume a mod would be able to fix the issue, however I don not know how to contact one. Any help would be appreciated

Disk space issues
Details on the disk space issues, which caused a freeze on game processing, within.
kestasjk (99 DMod(P))
10 Nov 11 UTC
Hi all, the number of cached maps exceeded our available disk space, causing errors to occur when new data had to be written to, but couldn't be.

The cached maps are currently being deleted, and scripts will be put in place to ensure that the cached maps are trimmed regularly to prevent this from happening again.

I've increased process times by 12 hours to account for the 4 hours of unavailable games.

Thanks to abgemacht for pointing this out, apologies for the inconvenience.

Regards,
Kestas

How *dare* you interrupt my (free) gaming experience! You should be spending 18 hours a day, every day, watching the server stats with a worried eye. DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?

Orr..... thanks for getting things up and running so quickly, Kestas ;)

AARRGH, more time for inactive players! So they can ponder their DISBAND actions 8 hours more! "am I ready to disband?....uhmm....no....maybe I can disband it....just a little later....let's see, everyone is ready....am I ready too?....how can I say to be ready to disband my OWN army? Wouldn't it be a betrayal of my army?! Of my ENTIRE NATION?! You should HOLD! HOLD!! Damn checkbox, I don't want to disband, HOLD FOREVER! Russians will never take Berlin! Where is the 5th army?!........ehr....ok, where was I?....oh, the disband....am I ready?....no, I'm not....just wait a little more...."

(btw, thanks a lot for your work, this entire Diplomacy project is simply awesome)

Keep up the good work. I think you guys like kestas need some financial compensation for all the work you do like 5% of donations or something.
stratagos (3269 D(S))
10 Nov 11 UTC
uh, you realize that this site belongs to kestas, and the donations don't come anywhere *near* to compensating him for his expenditures, not even counting coding time.
Diplomat33 (243 D(B))

Well, he should still get something.

The donations and Plura fees have put us in the black thankfully stratagos, and we're set up for a couple of years ahead thanks mostly to the last donation drive. :-)
No that doesn't include coding time but that's okay I got a lot out of it

Anyway thanks for the kind words, we've got monitoring in place now and have 14GB of cache space available (I'll move the cache to the 200GB partition, which will be enough for a year or two, when I have a chance)

Companies oppose legislation...

isn't it normal for companies to buy politicians and pay lobbiest to do this sort of thing?

Game 69351 Problem with Pause
Game 69351 says it's paused, but it's not, or at least, it accepted my orders. The players didn't pause it, so I don't know what's up.

So, this thread may be a flop, but I'll try anyway.

Are there any RPN users out there? If so, which calculator do you have?

Cheating?
Ok, first of all, I'm not mad about the game, but look at England and France:

Is really THAT much of coordination possible in a gunboat? I think they are communicating with each other or it's the same person.

A consequential voting day?
Tuesday was weirdly quiet in California. Usually we have a host of ballot initiatives, the evil intentions of which are only partially masked by their purposefully poor writing. Any other 'Murcans, except for Buckeyes, have a lot at stake on Tuesday?

Writing a book
Has anyone here written a book? Once I finish another project I am working on, I am mulling over writing a biography of a secondary figure from the early American Republic. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with publishing a manuscript before.
