Yeah good play France to stick with it. Why didn't you allow Italy to be eliminated at the end?

I messed up the French invasion as Italy; I was expecting English pressure. As it happened England attacked Germany instead, letting France concentrate his units and retake the poorly defended Italian centres. At the same time I had to hold Turkey off as best I could, then France came to the rescue. I'm still surprised how France recovered...

Turkey, you had a clear line to taking Naples and Rome. All you had to do was to convoy an army to Apulia and France could not defend both Piedmont and Rome. France should have moved a unit to Marseilles; it would have been a clear line then.

I was Germany. I turned around to deal with a possible Juggernaut, and got stabbed by England for my pains. I spent the rest of the game slowly dying, and at the end helping Turkey as best I could to screw England.

@Gobbledygook: Yeah, I saw that but it didn't seem worth it to keep going for two or three more years just to eliminate one more player. I was unable to solo, unfortunately, I'm not sure if I missed an opportunity or if it just a matter of England and France coming together at the exact right time.

Why did Frank draw? There was still game to be played.

@Czech: What do you mean? I see that Italy could've been eliminated with a bit of work but do you also think I had a shot at a solo?

I didn't trust England enough to let go of Italy.

@Frank. IDK if you could have soloed or not, but I don't draw if there is a chance of me getting rid of another player. The pot and GR aren't my motivation, just pissing off a player who felt they "deserved" a share of the pot when they were the weakest link. Eliminating Italy should have been a priority for everyone, except Italy of course.

If I were Turkey, I'd wipe Italy out too. I don't think the "Eliminating Italy should have been a priority for everyone" is a fair comment though. No doubt you (and I) agree that eliminating small irrelevant countries before a draw is the correct play, but there are others (like Frank) who believe all countries who managed to hold the line deserve equally in a draw, and I respect them for their views. Imposing your views upon everyone else is wrong.

@Frank: No, there wasn't really any chance to solo. You were too slow in getting through my defenses.
