Why is it exclusive to the western hemisphere? What is wrong with the eastern hemisphere that you do not include it in your wish?

@obi: number 3 is a little selfish...why not the entire world and not just the western hemisphere? Also Western Hemisphere is effectively North and South America (and bits of Europe/Africa)

1. immortality/no aging
2. ability to turn any metal to gold
3. time travel ability
4. world peace

Why just the West?

Because, to be honest, for a host of reasons:

-Living in and knowing people and cultures all over the West, I can be sure that most people would be relatively happy with the ideas I put forth (more education, no worries about money or over-capitalism crushing them, but not communist, and friendships intact over being fractured through our cubicle-based, here-today-gone-tomorrow) whereas the East I don't know, honestly, if they'd like those somewhat philosophic ideals
-When I said the Western Hemisphere, I mean North and South America, all those islands, and then basically what you see in Diplomacy- mainland Europe (at least to the Western Russian areas around Moscow) and Africa... Asia has it's own way of doing things, who am I to wish a Western way on the East?
-I think my wish could hurt some Estern countries in some ways, actually... no drive for over-industry, and what happens to China, now taking hold? India? Japan's dualistic, strong on family lives and corporations, what happens when I take the corporations away?

So, those are my reasons... that covers the Americas, Africa and Haiti (thank God... or, if you're an atheist, then just be happy) and Europe-

A Westerner's Philosophy for the West, I'll let the East be (I'd want the same, after all... I wouldn't want to adapt Chinese customs or Indian customs or whatever because of a wish, and as they value the collective over the individual achievements more over there, and I'm of the Nietzsche/Hobbes school that says "Look out for you and your friends FIRST and be extraordinary, not just a working cog) I'd be miserable as just a content cog in the Chinese or Indian machine.)

I see two problems:

-immortality... what if you get "terminally" sick and you are in agony forever... or, like a guy who DID wish for immortality on The Twilight Zone... suppose you accidentally got something like "life in prison?"

-World Peace= BAD IDEA... or, rather, a good idea, but with consequences that might warrant extreme caution (ex. a "War of the Worlds" scenario, only we've just totally disarmed because of world peace, and what if we lose culture due to lack of competition between nations... religion takes a hit... and WHO'D bring about world peace, the wrong person, and it could be like Hitler ruling the world, "unified" and "at peace"

-good health for as long as i want it.
-the ability to provide whatever i want for myself or for anyone else
-the ability to know the answer to any question i ask as long as i seek it out
-a family which is loving and protected from harm just as i am

1. Time Travel (+1 hellalt)
2. Good health for me and my family
3. I wish for for the entire Eastern Hemisphere to be peace with itself and every other nation, every nation is secure, no one is hungry or impoverished, diseased, and education, friendship, and wisdowm are valued over monetary gain, to the extent that monetary issues are no problem for anyone in the Western Hemisphere INCLUDING my friends and I. (Just to cover the other hemishere)
4. Can't think of another one...so I guess a steak because I'm a bit hungry.

Interfere with the past... hell, Bones saved just one lady from being run over in the street, and Hitler won WWII because of it! ;)

pshhh! That's just a theory. Plus, then you can just mess with past enough to make a better future!

How is Hitler winning the war or anything they show on that Dcotor Who you Brits love good? (one of my closest, dearest friends LOVES that show the way I LOVE Star Trek... and just like she can't quite get into the Trekkin' mood, I've yet to quite grasp that show... witches and Shakespeare and words are magic but magic's a science now and the David Tennant character gave Shakespeare all his best lines... oy... :p)

1 - the underlying physics and plans for a clean, cheap, abundant and renewable energy source - that is feasible with today's technology.

2 - a breakthrough in genetics that allows safe, effective vaccines to be created for any viral disease

3 - the ability to protect my family from any and all threats

4 - I would leave this wish unfilled, in case I needed to deal with the consequences of wishes 1 - 3

1. Become a genie myself with ability to grant wishes to others they could then take care of me with there wishes.
2.total veto over all others wishes.If they don't take care of me I veto.
3.mind control over others.Make them wish for what I want.
4.Death to first genie. There can only be one.
