I want to buy L4D2 spyman, was a big L4D1 fan, but it's censored in Australia. It's 25% off for the next 3-4 hours, and the standard way people are working around the censorship is to get someone in the US to buy it for you and send it as a gift on Steam

Left 4 Dead 2, I haven't heard of that game before. Refused classification in Australia. Does that mean it s impossible to buy here?

They don't let you have Left for Dead in Australia? Man thats rough, whats the reasoning behind that one?

@spyman: you can buy it, but it's pretty butchered. No blood/gore, zombies disappear before they hit the floor, and they removed the "riot cop" zombie type. Together it totally changes the atmosphere of the game, so most people are getting people in the US to buy it

vamo; I have no idea, COD:MW2 came out here no problems and I hear it has some pretty shocking scenes in it, GTA4 had no problems either. I don't know what they were trying to achieve by censoring L4D2 (L4D1 wasn't censored at all)
Really though what we need here is an 18+ rating for video games, no idea why we don't yet have one

Had to bump this to say L4D2 is an amazing game, a worthy successor to L4D1, highly recommend it to any FPS fan

Modern Warfare 2 has a mission where your goal is to mow down civilians. Sometimes, if you shoot them but don't kill them, they beg you, plead with you for their lives. It is horrifying. Are you telling me they didn't fucking censor that, but they censored zombies?

I agree with Sean; when the real 2012 crisis occurs (zombie wars), Australia will not have the necessary skills to turn them back. Fortunately, we've got enough zombie wargames in the states to help us refine our zombie killing strategies.
