Favorite Russian violin concerto
For me it's a toss-up between Shostakovich's first and Glazunov's. Any votes for Shostakovich's second, Khachaturian's, Prokofiev's, or Tchaikovsky's?

(this is in response to that oddity of a Beatles thread on a Diplomacy forum)

A question about builds
If a country does not enter build orders, does the program automatically build? If so, how does it decide what to build and where to build it. For example, if France had two builds at the end of a year, all three home SC's were open, but no orders were entered, what would happen?

Points
When you guys create games, what is your reasoning behind the amount of points? Is there a reason you go with 13 points per person, or 34 points per person? Why not just 10, 15, or 30?

The Diplomacy People-Who-Are-Awesome Awesome-Off
How it works: We start with me posting any historical or fictional person (Post 1).
This character has a challenger - any other historical or fictional person who hasn't come up yet - named in the next post (Post 2).
We vote on which is more awesome (Posts 3+). Once one person has a 5-vote lead or 15 votes are submitted, the person who wins is reposted, and a new challenger is posted.

oh lol im just doing a 24 fast straight up no food.
so believe me when i tell you i feel your pain :)

Yeah you make me look bad, idk if I could do 24 strait hours(Roman Catholics dont require quite that much)
Chrispminis (916 D)
26 Feb 09 UTC
I'm not at all religious but I suppose a weird quirk about me is that I have no problem fasting. I love eating, but I don't feel too bad even after 30 hours of fasting. When left to my own devices I usually have fewer, larger meals.

yeah i mean.. it's bearable, especially in comparison to what Jesus bore

lol chris i know what you mean sometimes i get to the end of the day and realize i had one meal and snack

and i'm not required to do it by anyone i'm just sort of doing it. i couldn't say i really belong to a denomination.

I'm Lutheran, so I don't fast. But, one time, I stayed awake for 34 hours nonstop. Then I passed out.

First day of Marine Corps Boot Camp... Awake AND forced marched/ordered around for around 48 hours. At least it felt like it.
Jacob (2711 D)

Only the first ten or so days of fasting are really that difficult from a hunger standpoint - after that it gets pretty easy until usually somewhere around forty days. When hunger returns at that point then you are literally starving and your body is beginning to consume muscle and things like that for energy.

I can't say I've personally put that to the test though =)
bartdogg42 (1285 D)

Really it's only the first 4 or 5 days. It differs by person, but generally that's what it is. In the first 3 days of the fast you're actually not experiencing hunger pains, it's really just a timed bodily response that feels like it should have food. You're not yet hungry. Around day 10 is when deep hunger sets in. Try it, you'll see what I mean.

10-40 are generally the same, and not particularly that hard in comparison to the first 4 or 5. I've heard of people fasting 70 days or so. Doctor recommended even.

@ Draugnar - mine wasn't quite as professional as that, more 'territorial'. It was mainly due to unlucky patrol/sentry allocations. Felt like I'd achieved something at least though :D
Chrispminis (916 D)

I've been awake for 48 hours but with the aid of food and caffeine. It was a sleepover and somehow I found myself awake for 44 hours straight... and I decided I might as well make it 48 since I've come this far. Those last four hours were the worst... In retrospect, I should have just slept after 44.

Yesterday was Ash Wednesday. I didn't eat the whole day not necessarily for the most religious reasons, but because both meals brought to the fraternity house were meat. We Catholics can't eat meat on Ash Wednesday or Fridays in Lent.

All I had was a spoonful of peanut butter and water.

There are a bunch of command programed into the system such as /draw or /pause. Is there an documented list somewhere? I didn't see this in the FAQ
