Western Meddling in Iranian Protests
So this is great and all. Encouraging protests and stuff. Um didnt this happen in Iran in Arab Spring too? When people start dying were gonna look pretty bad again. Like we encouraged a coup but didnt actually care about the consequences.

I've created a Discord Server to make it easier to coordinate future games and chat about ongoing ones (that allow press). I checked with one of the mods first to make sure it was okay to set up. Here's the link: https://discord.gg/5WpVw29

Fewer live classic games these days?
Looking back through the last couple months' completed games, it feels like there are far fewer Classic live games than there were a few years ago. Do other people have the same feeling?

Is country choice completely random?
I've noticed that I have had an unusual amount of games as France or Turkey, maybe just a coincidence.
jmo1121109 (3802 D Mod)
27 Dec 17 UTC
It is completely random unless there is a player in your game who joined somewhere before 2011 (or something like that) who hasn't gotten 1 country significantly more then the others. Then that 1 person has a slightly better chance of getting their missing country. Otherwise it's random.
yavuzovic (260 D)
27 Dec 17 UTC
Yes, France and Turkey was my problem too. But I haven't played France for months. Nowadays I usally be appointed for center powers.
Claesar (3104 D Mod)
27 Dec 17 UTC
What people consider unusual is typically very usual statistically. If you tally your country assignments, I will tell you that's a very normal distribution.
SkiingCougar (953 D)

If you take the site as a whole you will see that every country has an exact equal amount of plays as the other, so based on that I think you're comment is irrelevant

You actually expect to see some people get turkey several times in a row if the countries are randomly assigned.

Especially if you have a big enough collection of players, actual random results leave you with every possible combination at least once, to not see them would be weird.

I don't believe it is random how can you get Europe TWICE in a row TWICE. Why can't i get Kenya twice in a row. or USA or India??!!!
CAPT Brad (40 D X)
27 Dec 17 UTC
That was Europe FOUR times in a game that has SEVENTEEN options?!?!
Claesar (3104 D Mod)
27 Dec 17 UTC
(1/17)^3 is 1/4913. That's the chance of getting a country four times in a row, for your first four games. In other words, Brad, that will happen to 1 in every 5000 users.

The chances of getting Europe twice in a row twice are very high. Much higher than the calculation I did above.

There was a draw. I was 0053 and 0051 won the ticket. There's a window, should I go out to breath fresh air?
Claesar (3104 D Mod)

You should always breath fresh air if you feel like it. I detest lotteries and you weren't any closer to winning than your neighbour with ticket 1010, though..

Arson = socially progressive
I realized that based on the cultural constraints of the criminal justice system that burning things represents the circle of life. If a forest burns down - it comes back stronger. We burned down Atlanta, it came back way cooler look at the Falcons. We accidentally burned Chicago, now its great. Lets just burn the world.
