Conservatives' edumacated people iz so stooped thread
We get it. You hate smart people and those who have made the effort to educate themselves. Scientists and scholars are so elite and are all prize idiots and are nothing compared to the brilliance of high school drop outs from the "heartland".

You would think smart people would be able to tell the difference between smart/educated people and people who are just pompous, overbearing and arrogant unable to accept anything outside there narrow point of view.

Here is a hint for you, the two aren't even close to being the same.

Guess the "stooped" people are smart enough to understand the difference.

I don't see anyone, well other than you, hating on bo_sox who is clearly smart and made the effort to educate himself.

And I wonder why non college educated Americans feel disillusioned and looked down upon by the Democratic Party.

clearly I meant "their" and not "there" in my reply. Autocorrect fixed my poor typing to the incorrect word.

Thought I would try and correct that before I am labeled a neo Nazi.

Well, maybe it's because they are rightly looked down on for their anti-intellectualism and rabid racism. Why wouldn't decent people react negatively to those attitudes? I know a lot of people want to create safe spaces for racists and liars, but I don't see how that kind of coddling benefits anyone.

Certainly those who want to educate themselves and treat others with respect have staunch allies in that effort in Democrats (who push for education funding , higher wages for workers and protections for consumers), but mostly those non-college educated WHITE voters (note, Democrats do great among non college educated voters of color) reject those efforts and vote based on their bigotries and end up making their situation worse off.

Some people you can't reach without great difficulty and that shouldn't be a priority Surely, you're not suggesting that Democrats should shun science and the principle of liberty and justice for all just to make some white dropouts feel better? There are certain principles that are the only reason the party exists. Embracing the anti-intellectualism and racism of that demographic just to win votes just isn't worth it.

If conservatives want to stop being looked down on, they can start by pulling their heads out of their asses. Sorry if the truth is difficult, but I'm not here to give aid and comfort to racism.
CroakandDagger (718 D)

Democrats have shunned the "principle of liberty and justice for all" before.

um... is this NOT a thread that is specifically targeting one group of people? Mods?

"Well, maybe it's because they are rightly looked down on for their anti-intellectualism and rabid racism."

i say this about any minority group or other politic ideology and i'm 100% sure to be hit with a silence. why is Ogion getting a pass?

One of my favorite speakers is Jordan Peterson who's a highly intelligent university professor, and he has some very strong criticism of universities and that they are becoming more harmful than useful.
I can understand why some people are viewing them in a more negative light. I admit I kind of do too despite getting an engineering degree at one.
JamesYanik (548 D)

So apparently to be "Highly edumacated" and smart, all you have to do is making broad sweeping generalizations and stereotype a huge range of people into being anti-intellectual and racist.

"some people you can't reach without great difficulty"

Was he looking in a mirror while saying that?

Cause I am not sure I have encountered anyone more difficult to reach anywhere.
Jeff Kuta (2066 D)

Jordan B Peterson. Meh, but...

"In response to the 2017 protest in Charlottesville, Virginia, he criticized the far right's use of identity politics, and said that "the Caucasians shouldn't revert to being white. It's a bad idea, it's a dangerous idea, and it's coming fast, and I don't like to see that!" He stated that the notion of collective identity is "seriously pathological", "reprehensible", "devastating", "genocidal", and that "it will bring down our civilization if we pursue it.""

Yep. Alt-right folks like white nationalist Richard Spencer are the problem.

KansasBoyd (25 DX)

You would think that with the Democrats apparently having the only smart, educated people on the planet, they could have come up with a strategy that would have won the election.

They had all the smart people, most of mainstream media and all of Hollywood spreading their message and still lost.
MajorMitchell (1605 D)
07 Sep 17 UTC
Well obviously KB the larger number of gullible dumbnuts loved a Demagogue & swing it in key States in the US election. Plus the Democrats had the wrong candidate. Plus Trump had effective puppet masters influencing events and certain powerful media players & corporate powers helping Trump.
I suppose as a generalisation I could observe that the French are much smarter than the citizens of the USA, based on recent elections.
MajorMitchell (1605 D)
07 Sep 17 UTC
But hey any barely literate dumbnut who can chew on tobacco and scratch their genitalia can express as equally valid views on climate science, divine creation vs science based understandings of physics, geology, paleontology etc as any reputable scientist. Yeah..good luck with that. It's all so simple when you listen to the God bothering extremists from the westboro Daffy Baptists, or some equally fanatical mufti, or the KKK. LoL
MajorMitchell (1605 D)
07 Sep 17 UTC
& KB, pretending that in the USA there are not a heap of anti intellectual racists is perhaps a greater self delusion than the self delusions of those anti intellectual racists.
KansasBoyd (25 DX)

Those same racist dumbnuts who voted for an African American man in the previous two Presidential elections in those very swing states?

So they weren't gullible dumbnuts when they voted Democrat, but somehow changed into gullible dumbnuts when they voted Republican?

You did say one extremely accurate thing.

The Democrats had the wrong candidate.

THAT is what lost them the election.
Octavious (2732 D)

I'm curious, Mitch. What about the French system has impressed you recently? They've gone from the least popular President in history to a new President who has even less impressive popularity scores after the 100 day mark and a Party with the depth and experience of first year uni students.

When did I say or even hint at pretending that there aren't some anti intellectual racist in this country?

Never?

OK. Good talk.

There are anti intellectual racists in every race/color and religion in this country.

Not just White and Christian.
Fluminator (1500 D)
07 Sep 17 UTC
Get Clinton's knew book! She'll tell you why they lost...
Fluminator (1500 D)
07 Sep 17 UTC
On another note, it seems like the presidential candidate that wins is always the one that promises change or campaigns on being different. The only exception I can think of recently is Bush Sr. only because Reagan appeared so successful at the time.
Heck, Obama's whole slogan was "Vote for change".

Trump's campaign was all about change and being different. Clinton's campaign really didn't have any of that. Her's was being more of the same which was a bad plan for a country hit hard by corporatism.
KansasBoyd (25 DX)
07 Sep 17 UTC
Or because I accurate corrected idiotic stereotyping that ALL conservatives are anti intellectual racists make me think that zero exist?

That is an Evel Knievelesque leap of logic right there.
Ogion (3817 D)

Like this thread is truly amazing and something I'd expect out of the onion.

It's some guy with a phd calling all people who are on the fence of university education "stupid, racist, bigots, idiots, etc", and then wondering why these uneducated people aren't a huge fan of listening to these educated people like him.

(Ironically, I bet a lot of these uneducated "idiots" can't afford to go to university thanks to the corporatism of the establishment that all these educated people are saying to vote for.)

I don't understand why this is hard for a few select individuals to understand. It's not acceptable to attack individuals or groups of individuals on this site. If you feel that your freedom of speech is limited here, please feel free to find another diplomacy site to play and to spew your opinions endlessly and see how that goes for you. If you just want to spew hate and vitriol, you can go to 4chan or the likes. We do not welcome nor accept that kind of behavior here.

On a related note, is it any wonder that mods get burned out when they have to deal with stupid shit like this? I have to step away from my family to deal with this juvenile shit. You want to help? Follow the damn site rules.

Ghost Ratings and CD Takeovers
Do the Ghost Ratings include games where the player takes over a CD? If a player regularly takes over CDs in a more or less hopeless position does it effectively screw up the player's ghost rating?

And, finally, why do I keep taking over hopeless CDs and should I seek professional help?
