Why was my support move blocked here?
http://webdiplomacy.net/map.php?gameID=201965&turn=11&mapType=large
I'm kind of a noob so this might be a dumb question.
I'm playing as France. The relevant bit is the move the army at Kiel support move to Denmark from Heligoland Bight. This fails because of Germany's move to Kiel from Munich, but Munich can't move there since it's being dislodged. Shouldn't my support move work since the Munich army is being attacked?

I think I'll go to London from 6-10 August..
.. and perhaps longer if I can find a cheap place to stay or it's too fun to leave. I know that some of my webdip friends (and other webdippers probably) are from London, so if anyone wants to message me to see if we can meet up, exchange tips or even let me stay at your place for a while, please feel free! I'd love to meet some of you in person.

Before you are turned off expecting orders to be pre-written for you, this is your chance to re-write history. I would like to propose a following:

Classic Map

England, France, Russia and Italy all ALL ALLIED (STRICT) and must pre-vote draw

Germany, Austria and Turkey ALL ALLIED (ALSO STRICT) but may vote draw meaning "surrender"

When a central power votes draw, they cannot be attacked the following year and thereafter. they also must click ready with NO moves except holds.

Allies "win" if they get central powers to all vote draw

Central powers win if they eliminate all allies.

Italian will have to make no moves: all holds in the first year.

Russia will have a revolution in 1910 and can be attacked but may not issue moves. must be all hold.

Anyone interested? I think between 20 hour to 2 day phases

Clarify: Year 1901 Italy does nothing

Year 1910->infinity: russia gone

So small that it doesnt feel like a waste if you are defeated. But also not so small that there is incentive for cenrals to win

Would be VERY fun to see how it all works out.

Rule Recap:

1. England, France, Russia and Italy are all allied and must pre-vote draw as they are trying to maintain peace.

2. Germany, Austria and Turkey are all allied but may vote draw meaning "surrender". Once you vote draw, you must tell the GLOBAL chat and when a central power votes draw, they cannot be attacked the following year and thereafter. they also must click ready with NO moves except holds.

3. If Turkey votes draw in the Spring of 1903, they can still be attack by the Allies in the Fall but not the following spring. So as a central power, it is wise to surrender in the fall. But hold off too long and you might be eliminated before surrendering!

4. Allies "win" if they get all remaining central powers to all vote draw.

5. Central powers win if they eliminate all allies and naturally will make a profit on their bet.

6. The Italian will make no moves until after the first build phase to recreate their switching of sides in World War 1.. And to give the Central Powers a chance cmon :)

7. Be fast as the allies as Russia will have a revolution in 1910 and can be attacked but may not issue and further moves. The last move Russia can submit is the Build phase after the retreat phase of Fall 1909. They can, however, strategically disband units in the following years to benefit their allied friends. Be hasty Russian!

7. But Russia is not the only one with inhabitants unhappy with the war, once the year hits 1913, Austria-Hungary falls to the cultural instability within it making the Fall of 1912 its last turn!

As the Italian player in a similar game, Italy really needs to be a central power for this game to be competitive. Germany gets the shit kicked out of it, and if Italy is allied, so does Austria. Turkey just ends up alone in its corner

I agree with the Italian problem. I even considered allowing the central powers a FULL year with builds. but as it's pretty obvious, the central powers will probably die hahaha

a full year without builds might be worth a try, actually. Can't really wrap my head aqround that one

Build and retreat turns
Should 100% be put together they involve next no strategy and are quite frankly boring. I think the reason that this isn't the case as it could be confusing how ever a bit of graphic design would fix that e.g BUILD in bold and underneath that are build options and under that RETREAT in bold and under that are your retreat options

Posting links to pictures of messages?
Is that allowed in the rules? Ie. in an anonymous game, Italy is betrayed by Russia, so posts a link to an image posting site which shows the chat between the two? It seems like it shouldn't be but I can't see where it's prohibited.

Ghost rating question
I read the explanation on the GR website. I get that eliminating players in WTA improves the GR gain.
Do I understand correctly that an effort was made to make the GR score in SoS games based on centre count, but not implemented ultimately? So one should still kill off small powers (at the expense of centres elsewhere) to improve GR gains?

Does anyone know how to contact mods to help unpause games? I have one that's been on pause all month (game id: 199383) and one still on pause since 2014 when I was in high school (game id: 128401). Any way to terminate/resume/draw these games?

The voting buttons
I'm not entirely the "cancel" button does. It seems to have no propose to me. But one button I do recommend is a "kick" button for inactive players as they severely slow the game down. Of course, be a minimum time or number of turns before it's an option.
