Why do you apply base human sexual desires to the Messiah ? Everything about his life demonstrates his most passionate desires are spiritual, not physical.

In Greek society, and in many others, there was no distinction between gay and straight. People simply did what they did. There were many Greeks and others in the region at that time, so most wouldn't think a thing about it. In Jewish society however, a man was expected to be married, so Jesus' own people would've thought his single status as strange. They probably didn't label him as gay, but merely thought him unusual. And, they had plenty of reasons to think him unusual because since he was 12 he was bucking the authority of the establishment.

It would not necessarily have been unusual in 1st Century Palestine to be single under 30. The tendency was for older guys, who had become established in their professions to then take younger wives, rather than the modern practice of films (usually) marrying some if about their same age.
