Reenactors
Are there any other reenactors here? I do both American Civil War and WWII Reenacting and would like to know if there are any others out there like me.

Not a reenactor but I did work in a living history museum for 7 years. Learned blacksmithing and everything. I was always dressed as a late Victorian farmer. Never got the cool hats that the fancy folk did. We had Civil War reenactors every year at the end of the summer.

I was a member of a Russian unit once in a WWII reenactment. I found out that day that my life expectancy on a battle field is about fourty five seconds. "You with the Moisen Nagant behind the tree your dead"

Not a regular, but I've participated in several Revolutionary War reenactments in upstate New York. Those Civil War and WWII guys are farby as shit.

My civil war unit is based out of vt but all of my reenactments are in NY

Civil War and First World War reenactor here. And not all Civil War reenactors are farby--we aren't as uptight as some units, but we do try to make things as accurate as possible. Although there are quite a few Farbs out there, I won't argue that.

yeah, my civil war unit is big on accuracy

Users are reminded that it is against the rules to wear more than one period costume at the same time.

1901 Country Assignments
Does anybody else constantly get assigned the same country or countries? I've entered into maybe 15 games and every time but one, have been assigned either England, Germany, or Russia.

(Note: this is not a complaint--I'll never bemoan a free game of Diplomacy!!! Just curious :-)

Game Start Date - any way to know?
I know you can see the date a game finished, but is there a way to look and see when it started? I am curious to see how long a game took to finish in real time.

I looked for this for a while, so I'm the dunce if someone immediately points this out...

I also have an oven story
Accidentally hit Clean a few days ago. Cancelled it because there were things in the oven. Haven't been able to open it since. Have had it unplugged for 24 hours, hoping the electromagnet that allegedly locks it loses strength soon. Will update as warranted.

How many Webdippers remember Erector sets? Or for that matter, Lincoln Logs and Tinker Toys? Of course, I expect the usual 90% comedy answers, the real reason I ask.

Two players from one IP?
Is it allowed to have two players playing from the same household - in different games? I know they cannot join games together, and that is fine with me, but can two players from the same household play different games?

Thanks! Don't want to be banned accidentally.

NHL sucks
I honestly challenge anyone who obviously knows nothing about hockey to keep high morale when the refs are literally maliciously trying to throw the game. I've never seen worse reffing in a series, and anyone who doesn't realize these are humans that actually get effected when the ref delibrately tries to blow a series against your team, should realize that it makes your team feel like they are skating though glue.

How can I become a crappier person
I have recently been told that I am funny, kinda weird, a stalker, spammy, and an artistic twat. Do you fellows at WebDiplomacy observe these traits about me? How can I become the worst me possible? What tips and advice can you offer? How can I become a shit human? This is a serious thread and I want to become even worse than I am.

You discover a map to buried treasure
There is a catch. While visiting neighors you find the map in the hands of their infant son. The treasure is likely real as youd heard of the map and its fabled promise. The problem is not just that a child is holding the map- its that the family desperately would need the treasure to pay off their debts or they may end up on the streets starving. However you also know the babys mother and father gamble, drink and are rather unsavory. What do you do?
