Is America mediocre?
What factors in your opinion have made America a lousy place to live? Can it be fixed? And under the current political atmosphere will America be exceptional by 2020?

Thanks Zmaj, i've never been to scandanavia.

I wonder if the lie the irish tell themsleves is that they don't have an alcohol problem...

Maybe it's because they live in an egalitarian and well-designed society and do a lot of things that are known to produce happiness. Sunlight and tasty food are good, but that's a tiny piece of the puzzle. Meanwhile, Americans are for the most part selfish and mean-spirited, which aren't conducive to health.

And yes, compared to the rest of the world, our gun violence is soaring. Maybe it's lower than it was, but it is still many many times higher than anywhere not in the middle of a giant drug war or civil war.

We dont. In fact I dont have a problem with drinking alcohol from all continents

"Bottom line is quality of life in America is even decreasing for millionaires and billionaires. I read a report that showed starvation and malnourishment were becoming common among the upper 1%. Which is hard to believe but food is scarce now."

The Onion is not a legitimate news source.

"And yes, compared to the rest of the world, our gun violence is soaring."

I think you need to look up the definition of "soaring".

Then how do you explain all the cases lately of wealthy CEO's unhinging their giant maws eating their employees .

Brainbomb's problem is that he see America from Omaha. If I had to live in omaha, I would get a rock and kill myself.
brainbomb (469 D)

Omaha is consistently among the top 25 places to live in America. In fact it was #1 in the early 2000's

We have the #1 zoo in the world. Getting anywhere in this city by car takes 15 minutes at most. Its got great concerts, college world series. Its home to one of the worlds richest men (warren buffet) trust me this city is not bad at all.

Cost of living here is great. I have a 3 bedroom 1 bath for 750 a month. That much space in a city like Chicago or on the west coast would be double that price

In other news, the US, the richest country in the world, is so bad of taking care of its people that some demographics have a declining life expectancy. Yay! Go us!

Yea but with a military that is as big as ours nobody will be able to come here and take all our sub par things from us.

Well I was going to suggest that the USA is a great place to live for wealthy people, but so are Switzerland & Monaco, and they're probably much safer.

I just spent five hours surfing, light offshore wind, 4 to 5 ft swell, and not crowded, maximum seven others, but most of the time only four others. Sweet. Got some good waves, and got smashed & full rinse cycled by a few waves/sets
So I'm quite happy where I am,
and we don't have Trump..Big Hoorah
Time for a long nap.

On weekends that rather compact break can have twenty, thirty plus in the water, with half being clowns..the bobbing heads obstacle course. So it was so good to have only a few others in the water.

In terms of natural beauty and resources, the United States is exceptional.

It also has current political advantages. The first it is the home of the de facto world currence, the dollar. This allows the US to export its inflation to the rest of the world and operate on a deficit budget. Second, the Republican form of government, which is rapidly eroding into fascism, is still beneficial to some extent as compared to other political systems.

The corporate-fascist state is a danger. It's medical, governmental, and food systems are horrible. We are in big danger of losing everything because of them.
Ogion (4179 D)

Suggestion: Full Press Communication Games Creation Option
One can always password games. But, it has limitations. What about tracking players communication levels in Full Press games? Assign a Press Level to each player based on amount of communication. Then, add a creation option to Full Press games for a minimum Press Level.

How can I get some of that Putin money like Manafort?
What's it take to get on Putin's payroll? That guy pays a lot!
Just found out that Manafort owns an apartment at Trump Tower. I presume it's on a lower floor than Trump. Do the wires from Trump's penthouse travel through Manafort's level?

Treason depends on the definition of Enemy
Art III, Sec 3 of the Constitution defines treason, sort of. It depends on who an "Enemy" is. Back in the day when war was declared by Congress and peace was made by treaty, this was not a problem...
