Looking for a reasonably good player with at least 80 RR.

I need to replace out of a game I am in due to substantial constraints on my ability to play the game. I would like to leave the people who so graciously signed up to play and granted me a pause when I needed it with a reliable, quality player. My position is precarious but has strong solo potential.

Stupid question

I've just finished a gunboat which uses Sum-Of-Squares scoring. Wouldn't the amount of points I receive be equal to 144/(144+400+1+1)*375= 99 points? Why is it treated as a winner-takes-all game?

What exactly ends a pause?

So I'm in a game with a player who's left. A new player is willing to enter and I'm wondering what happens if we pause the game to give him some time to get settled. If all players vote to pause a game and set their moves to "Ready" will the game process? If a new player joins the game, does he have to vote "unpause" to get the game moving again? The FAQ didn't seem to have answers so I'm asking here. Thanks!

Is Mafia Taking Over Diplomacy?

I come to this website to play Diplomacy with anyone I can get to play. However, so many people play these Mafia games with such intensity that they don't want to play Diplomacy games. Perhaps someone should start a Mafia website for them.

3 Season Year Offsite Game Official Thread

This thread is for spectators, players and the GM to communicate about the game. In 6 hours (give or take) I will have a full information post including country assignments for the 7 players involved.

To make it clear this game will be a long game as not only are we adding an extra season per year but we are going to have long phases with adjudication time between each phase. The public map will always be one season behind so that public comments do not have heavy affects on the game. As such the Spring 01 map will not be out until Summer 01. In the meantime I offer the community to discuss the plethora of new opening moves available.

In the rule book in FTF play, you can show someone that you are writing out instructions and drop them in to the GM's box, but you can miss spell them and they become miss orders, I was hoping that we could not use that because we are not FTF and so the rule becomes unnecessary.

I won't be a stickler for misspelling. It will be when I can not understand what exactly you are talking about. I will not be extending my adjudication phase in order to get in contact with anyone because they misspelled so badly it's unintelligible. Example. Saying sevostopol will not cause me confusion. Sending something like "Ram" will cause a misorder as I can not determine if that is Rom or Rum. (Remember technically a navy could convoy a unit into either in a chain so not a far fetched scenario) if I can not clearly determine the intended move then it will be misordered. But no I won't be docking you tactically for missing a single letter in a complicated name if I can tell what you meant.

I honestly don't see this being a problem and I am mainly keeping it to avoid anyone deliberately misspelling in hopes of getting a few extra hours to decide how to order a specific unit.

Okay, so i am tired and have to work tomorrow so I am starting this puppy early.

Welcome to the 3YS game. First let me introduce our players and their country assignments.

France- Teacon
England- Moscowfleet
Germany- Pfranklin
Russia- DammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmDaniel
Turkey- Lordpulpo
Austria- Reeder1
Italy- Vixol

Each Year will be structured as follows:
Spring - Moves
Spring - Retreats
Summer- Moves
Summer- Retreats
Fall- Moves
Fall- Retreats
Winter- Builds

1901 will be longer than as all subsequent years; and be structured as follows:
All move phases will take 60 Hours
All retreat phases will take 36 Hours
All Build phases will take 36 hours

Every subsequent year will be structured as follows:
All move phases will take 48 Hours
All retreat phases will take 24 hours
All build phases will take 24 hours

Between each phase will be an undefined but never more than 24 hour long adjudication phase (This is because I do actually have a job that pays my bills so depending on when the Phase adjudicates I may get to it immediately or in a few hours.)

We will have a break from December 21st - January 6th (I know it’s not what I said originally I just decided to make the dates correspond with something; so Winter Solstice and 3 Kings day)

We will not pause for Civil Disorder or NMR.

If you need a pause please request ASAP and be aware a pause can be declined.

All press will take place using the webdiplomacy PM system so do not forget to watch your PMs

While global messaging technically doesn’t exist; feel free to use this thread as a Global message board. Be warned spectators will be allowed to comment on your words so they may call you out on your B***S*** ; we will refer to spectators as the “Media” for all intensive purposes.

All orders must be submitted using the submission sheet emailed to all players.

Please feel free to ask questions.

Does anyone know why The Diplomatic Pouch site at http://diplom.org/ is down? I noticed it wouldn't load about a month ago when I came back from my hiatus. When I was playing in June it was still working.

My ex hasnt contacted me

So its been since August that she got thrown in jail and totalled her car. My ex has my phone number and she just opts to no longer talk to me. In our last conversation she tells,me I am psycho but I am too good at expressing my emotions.
