It'll be Naughty MeepMeep's and General Gordon's birthdays soon, they'll be 3or 4 years old I think.
I named Naughty MeepMeep after that pestilential player MeepMeep, because like the player, NMM has a brain the size of a split pea, and being a wild fledgling that we found in the garden NMM is extraordinarily stubborn.
NMM is a musk lorikeet, but unlike his wild brethren who eat virtually any fruit (they're basically nectar feeders) Naughty MeepMeep would only eat carrots.
Well after four years of carrots and honey diluted with water NMM is starting to eat the odd apple or pear.
General Gordon is going well, he was a hand raised chick, so is completely tame, and a friendly and curious little chap.
Even the fire breathing MemSahib, Her Indoors, softens her gorgon like grimace when General Gordon plays up to her.
I suppose I can give Naughty MeepMeep a severe clipping of his flight and tail feathers as a combined birthday and Christmas present, sturdy gloves are an essential for that operation, the little blighter has a wicked bite.
They both like listening to the horse racing on the radio, but they are hopeless punters.
