I wouldn't doubt that Clarence Daniels thinks this white guy is an idiot, but it's up to him to press charges. If he wants to, and the state isn't, then this is a news story. Otherwise it's just some idiot tackling a guy with a gun. (A guy who didn't shoot said idiot for tackling him for it.)

If I were the CCW holder in this situation, I would have perforated that attacker numerous times, if not with my gun than with my knife on my weak side. Being a gun owner entails some very serious responsibilities, the most important of which is keeping your firearms either secured or in responsible hands. Anyone who attempts to interfere with that responsibility deserves to be perforated repeatedly.

All things considered, his attacker is getting off VERY easy. Just battery? This is assault at the very least, and there might be a racial crime/hate crime here too. When will people learn that attempting to disarm a man with a gun is a bad idea? Just ask Trayvon Martin or Michael Brown.

@KingCyrus - Yes I know what prosecutorial discretion is. I've had lots of negative experience with the police and prosecutors in Arizona. From this is the third time some one has tried to break into my car and this time they left clearly identifiable fingerprints and the police would come to take them. Being told I would have to go to court and sue my police department to get them to investigate a felony because the misdemeanor victim wouldn't file charges, but I would for the felony. To being on the receiving end of battery from police for obeying their order in my home.

I moved to some place safer to get away from the crooked police and county attorneys in my area.

Thanks. I've found that the easiest way to counter allegations of racism is to simply maintain consistency whenever someone brings up a race-related issue. The Second Amendment extends to all Americans, irrespective of skin color.

And this once again proves my point that Gunfighter is an abnormality when it comes to gun owners - responsible, consistent, and fair. It's quite refreshing. Doesn't mean you agree with him all the time or even often at all, and it doesn't mean you have to like the fact that he is, for lack of a better word, obsessed with guns, but at least he's not going to shoot someone because he's wearing a hoodie and eating Skittles after dark.

The problem with this country (United States of America) is that guys like me aren't allowed to write gun laws. I could cut gun violence and expand freedoms at the same time with a few simple reforms.
