Time for another one.
Card games are fun. Just ask a gambler.

I want a few more games as mine start to thin down. Probably 3-7 games, not sure if I want a series just yet. Depends on the interest from others.

Replacement Germany needed
We're looking for a replacement Germany in game:
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=148522

Germany missed a phase, but tons of opportunities. And the game is filled with experienced players. It's anon, but (oddly enough) people are revealing themselves on public chat. So take a look there if you want to know. I've removed the password, so it's free to join.

Hand grenade shopping
Does anyone know of some good hand grenades that are both cheap and reliable? I need to equip myself urgently but I'm on a budget.

So, I respect that this is cheesy, and not everyone will agree. But in terms of utility, price, convenience, etc., I find the German Army Stielhandgranate(from the Swiss Army Grenade folks) to be an awesome option. As someone who used to run with a range of Pipebombs, C-4, and so forth, this is what I've come to use almost exclusively.

I hate tools like the Molotov, which try to be all things, and end up being shitty at each of them. But to me, this Grenade really strikes the right balance. I really like having the handle, and use these almost constantly. I've even felled an 8" tree with this (not recommended, but the point is it's doable). And still the weight and pocket profile of the grenade is totally reasonable. The one-handed opener works fine -- it's not as fully smooth as a good round grenade, but it gets the grenade into action quickly enough for any practical purpose (its not like I'm using it in a trench!).

I have used the grenade extensively in cool, wet, and sandy environments, and a bit in the snow, but not so much in extreme cold. So I can't attest to its performance there. But this is essentially the same model as used by military forces where it is very cold and there's lots of snow, so my guess is it will hold up well.

There are several "flavors" of this grenade around, but here's a link to one for reference:

@ Abgemacht - I don't think I'd need something as powerful as a grenade to fell an eight-inch tree. That's a pretty small tree. Did you meen eight feet?

Snookie. Hands down the cheapest grenade.
Code Bomb (100 D)
25 Oct 14 UTC
Although the "Snookie" model is rather inexpensive, the reliability might pose a concern. It's just as likely to blow up in ones face as it is to blow up at your nearest night club.

The plastic exterior, though very expensive, is prone to cracking, and ultimately leaving much to be desired in the aesthetics of the grenade. There's not really anything inside the shell, or 'stomach' of the grenade, except for expired alcohol, buffalo sauce, and whatever drug is most popular in the clubs at time of purchase. Though it will cause a nasty burn to ones eyes, it's more likely to just be stuck in your bag leaking it's own innards all over you fancy Gucci weapons bag.

I would have to agree with abge, the model he recommends sounds much better. Besides, it can even fell an 8 inch tree.

They EAT PEOPLE down there, Sandman!

But just this once, we'll forgive you for not knowing, because you are knew.

You'll just have to trust me: when we say the Congo, we don't make a mistake. When we say you're knew, we don't make a mistake. Stick around, move as we move, and you'll see soon enough. Watch out with the questions though, it's quite like the Congo in that respect. Did I mention that already? Of course not.

I think Jamie may be parodying BoSox's thread "Knife Shopping".
Hasn't he done a great job in winkling out the xenophobes?
Shame that he'll be missing all his deadlines for the next seven days while he answers questions from the Anti-Terrorist Squad.
You'll enjoy the experience, Jamie! Great sport, water-boarding. Much more exciting than Diplomacy.
