Well, oscar, I think you'll find CB is *probably* not being serious. And if he is, I'll go from laughing with him to laughing at him. Either way, this thread amused me.

The point wasn't to brag about needing 1000 condoms the point was to aggravate my mother. clear in the fact that throughout this thread thats been my goal. Do I really think im going to have sex with every girl in a school? No. Do i walk into the school with the expectation of 1? No.
Simply I am just using the condoms topic to spur a comedic conversation with my mother and then after the original conversation I thought itd be a comedic thing to share with you all.

I think you might have misunderstood me. My beef is not with your posts which are obviously intended humorously. And I can certainly humor them.

My beef is with zultar telling me off about offending women after I started a humorously intended thread that wasn't even the least bit sexist (as opposed to this one which contains clear sexually objectifying remarks about women) or offending. And then, on the same day mind you, being the first to join in on the sexist and rather explicit (albeit obviously humorously intended) banter of this thread.

So to be clear: I have no problem with these kind of threads. I have a problem with zultar completely arbitrarily interpreting the already very vague forum rules, apparently abusing both the rules and his position as co-owner to tell off whomever he happens to dislike personally. That shit ain't cool.

@Oscar - I think the best course of action is to choose your battles. this is a losing one for you. Majority of the community did not find your thread comedic. it may have been vague and misinterpreted but none the less the community has rallied against you. Find another, more meaningful, example to argue the new forum rules on. I do thank you for finding my thread comedic. I am sorry yours did not receive the best response. But seriously please rethink your course.

I'm not arguing the lack of comedic value of that thread. I fully admit it wasn't that funny at all and I don't mind that the "majority of the community" (was there a vote?) saw fit to tell me it wasn't funny. I agree with them.

That doesn't change the fact that it was obviously intended as funny though. And just because it wasn't actually funny doesn't make it offensive or inappropriate. I made a bad joke. So what? That doesn't make me a bad person.

I don't like to be called offensive towards women by zultar who has himself shown to hold rather disconcerting - especially given his moderation powers - sexist believes on more than one occasion. I take pride in being a proponent for women's rights and emancipation so when some adolescent (which I now assume zultar must be) sexist moderator, ill-informed about women's issues, calls me offensive towards women then I take insult at that and I will have my say to the contrary.

As for the community having rallied against me, I don't care. I'm my own man and I'll decide for myself what I think, say or do. I'm not some approval seeking, conformance horny sheep that just wants to be liked by everyone. Also, the community did not rally against me at all. They just said my joke wasn't funny, which indeed it wasn't. Criticizing the joke does not equate rallying against the joker.

He presumes to know what women are offended by, but instead pushes them in the traditional gender role of needing a white knight in shining armor (zultar) to defend them. I'm sorry but this kind of implicit gender role bias is way more offensive and hurtful to women than any joke you can ever make involving women.

He then goes on to invent some fictional "other cultures" acting as though he is also the expert on their sensitivities.

All this imagined offense that "other" people are taking in zultar's fantasy world are IMO a rather obvious and cheap ploy to put himself on a moral high ground by debasing me as an insensitive jerk.

I'm sorry but I'm rather intolerant of males that see women as weak helpless creatures that need their protection telling me that I am the one that's offensive towards women. And thus I go out of my way to expose their implicit sexist beliefs, partly (in this case) to defend myself but mostly in hopes to make them more aware of their own misogynism such that they may improve themselves on that front.

@Oscar- You still havent answered the question. What do you expect to get from this crusade. Validation? Yes your point is valid, but not strong enough for anyone else to desire to carry this torch. Oscar all I am saying is this is a losing battle for you. You will get nothing in the end. The comments will still be there, and your joke will still not be funny. Unfortunately for women there aren't any on this site to express disgust with your joke personally. You are suggested people should defend themselves and noone should stand to their defense? So if I were at a gathering and overheard someone slandering your mother and stood to her defense when she was not present you would not welcome that?
