Many Normal Diplomacies
I recently won a game and got 90 D, so I created 9 new games all entitled "Normal Diplomacy" followed by a roman numeral (I'm up to XII I think). Fell free to join!

Option to blacklist players?
So we never have to play in a game with a sorry excuse like this douche I just played with.

With all those resigns, Chaqa, you should be careful slinging that douche tag around.
Draugnar (0 DX)

And another serial quitter in ccga... Methinks the real douches are the ones complaining about others yet quit when they aren't having fun anymore.
To be fair, they both play primarily live games which resign much more easily

Draug, I've had some resigns because I didn't enter a retreat or build when I was down to 1 SC. I've also had some because I fell asleep. But they aren't from giving up in a game.

And here's thegame I'm talking about: gameID=132105

France delayed the game for over 2 hours while we all had draw votes up.

You can fall asleep while playing live games? I can fall asleep doing a lot of things, but during a live game is not one of them!
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
24 Dec 13 UTC
I play a lot late at night, and when someone is taking 5 minutes every single phase for 2 hours, sometimes I nod off.
ccga4 (1831 D(B))
24 Dec 13 UTC
i've only resigned when i've had to go to bed at 1 am and school the next day
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
24 Dec 13 UTC
Once in awhile I do join one and forget about it. But 17 resigns over 3 years isn't that much, really.
peterwiggin (15158 D)
24 Dec 13 UTC
I guess playing gunboat makes it more plausible. If I'm playing press, there's too much to do to fall asleep.

0 resigns over 6 years? (But only 52 games . . .)
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
24 Dec 13 UTC
I was a bit of a dick when it comes to actually showing up for awhile there. I used to join games before I drove home from class and get stuck in traffic, CD, and my country would get taken over (or killed).

I've since learned to not join games unless I know for sure I'll be there.
josunice (3702 D(S))

The real question is why Austria is drawing in that game at all... fatigue? That was a solo for sure...
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
24 Dec 13 UTC
Because some of us don't like getting a solo because a player CD's (Russia)

Yeah, you say it. :-)
orathaic (1009 D(B))

Some of you weirdos don't know a CD is part of the game? Predicting them is hard, knowing if someone might take over is even harder (unless you recruit) 1901 CDs are the best becausr there is time to react and they should never just result in a solo...

But you can only comprehend quitting in these cases, where the game might actually become a different (READ:interesting) challenge...

For shame!

CD ruins the game.
Octavious (2802 D)

CDs change the game, and for those who want to play the game as intended they are annoying. As far as live games go, however, I'd much rather play a game with a CD than cancel and wait half an hour or more for another. Also bullying a player into thinking his position is so hopeless he quits is a legitimate tactic... although not a very nice one.
orathaic (1009 D(B))
25 Dec 13 UTC
'for those who want to play the game as intended they are annoying.' = i would go even further. The game was written with rules for CDs included, it was intended to have this option.

And the game is unbalanced to begin with, you use your diplomatic skills to overcome this imbalance, CDs definitely change the balance - but it is still unbalanced and diplomatic skills can still give any player a solo.

my mexican neighbors are screaming at eachother right now in spanish.
Reminds me of a Facebook post of a sign that said "For Lease" with a phone number after it ("To Let" for my UK/irish friends). The number was spray painted river and written above was "navidad". Hahaha forlease navidad. Gotta love the taggers with the Christmas spirit! Who, I just heard a gunshot! They're probably just celebrating the birth of our lord, but I should take cover just the same. Out!

train efficiency
Rather then losing momentum by stopping at train stations, a moving platform system like a stretchable flat escalator should allow trains to scoop up and roll off passengers at speed. Discuss.
